Or you could play a game made to be endless like DotA 2, DCSS, https://store.steampowered.com/app/803600/Disgaea_5_Complete__5/?snr=1_7_15__13
They typically have more lackluster to being completely void of stories (or just there to introduce new content).... If someone asked for a new game to purchase, I'd most definitely say Disgaea 5, but I'd still recommend those single digit AAA games with incredible amounts of attention to detail, and presentation.
Since I've played DCSS on many computers and both offline and on many different servers (both ssh and webtiles) I can't say how long I've played it but probably more than Mordheim.
The fun thing about a video game is that you play the story, you are the story and experience the story. It's why I love storybased games.
Anyway, I've spent thousands of hours on CM 01/02. I've been playing it since 2001 now, though the past few years it's about 2-3 months a year that I play it.
