Any valid way to download screenshots from Steam Cloud back to your computer?
Long story short: I've recently reinstalled windows on my computer and after some time found out that all my large collection of screenshots was on C disk and not D. I still feel dumb that I didnt check steam folder before reinstallation and that all 6 year screenshot history is gone. Nevertheless, most of them were semi-garbage (accident, unremarkable or doubled ones) and the best ones went to the cloud where they are safe-and-sound. But even with that it's just inconvenient to show and search for them in steam cloud, especially when you have several hundreds in one game. So my question is whether there is any valid way now to download all screenshots from steam cloud back to your computer? I tried some like steamgrabber or steamscreenshotdowloader but they all dont work in one or another way. I mean not that I urgently need them here and now, but I just want to get back something that's left from my collection.

You're talking about downloading all screenshots at once from a game, right?

I mean from steam cloud aka screenshot page in the steam profile.

Use a browser, right click one SS and "Save image as..."

Meh, I ask this because I have 8000+ of them and saving manually will take days if not weeks.

Sorry.

Always make a backup of the \Steam\userdata folder before reinstalling Steam or your OS.

Hello, did you find a solution to this?

Yes. I used LHNsSteamScreenDonwloader. I had to buy the full version though cause the free one did not work properly

LHNsSteamScreenDonwloader is the worst example of crippleware I've seen in a while! This git of a developer INTENTIONALLY left his "free" version riddled with bugs (maybe even artificial bugs?) and then announced:

OK, so uh, yea, I have a "full" version here. Want it to work? Buy it!

Hah. Yea. As if I would ever support crippleware developer.

I also tried 3 or 4 other alternatives but none worked. All this infuriated me so much, I decided to go on a quest to create my own Steam Screenshots Downloader with Blackjack and Hookers! In fact... No, I didn't forget about the downloader ;)

It is fully open sourced and free. It also can download age restricted screenshots without problem. And what is even more advanced, it actually saves every screenshot description inside the JPG file itself (in the XP Comment metadata). This comment can be then viewed in the Explorer or programs like IrfanView. Also also it actually sets the JPG file's modify/create date to the date of screenshot upload so that you can sort them by date nicely. Also also also it organises all the screenshots neatly into separate folders - one for each game.

You can try it out and check other features here[github.com].
If you ever find any bugz or it suddenly stops working because steam changed their website layout, you can post the issue there too and if I'll have any time, I'll try to fix it.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
