I have the steam app on my iPad but I'm just wondering, if I purchase games in this app, can they be played in the app on the IPad?
I plan to purchase Planet Zoo. Does anyone know if this game will play on the IPad?

No, Steam is a PC store. All games are PC/MAC/Linux only.

Not natively, but you can download the Steam Link App and play via that, or, if you have an AMD GPU, via AMD Link. But it needs to be downloaded to your regular computer and executed there.

That's unfortunate. How come I got a game, on it and it worked.

Because you bought it in the Apple appstore, not Steam.
Steam does not sell mobile games.
