Steam download keeps going down to 0, how do i make my downloads more consistent?

Could you post a screenshot of the download menu? (The one with all the blue/green lines)

That's a normal download. When the blue line drops to 0 (internet activity) the green line (disk activity) is still up, meaning the disk is still unpacking and allocating files. You have a pretty fast connection, and you're downloading on a slow HDD, and your connection is just waiting for the drive to catch up.

oh alright. Anyway to make it faster? im sorta of a pc illiterate. I got a 4 tb seagate hardrive on christmas, so probably not, but anything helps!

Not much other than installing on an SSD.
