CSGO Lag on a 2080ti
I first bought my pc last Christmas. It had 64 GB of RAM, a 2080ti, i9-9900k processor and other very high end components. I played on the new cache map and noticed less than 140 fps in comparison to my 600+ fps from a year ago. Is my pc deteriorating at such a rate that I need to change my pc, or do I need to overclock? I’ve never seen a review on this, but because of my fps issue, should I run 3 2080 tis for csgo now?

GPU is nearly completely unimportant for CSGO.
Even a basic midrange GPU can run the game at hundreds of FPS.
Your CPU is way more important.

Thank you, but does that mean I need to overclock my i9-9900k now? I don’t know why my pc is so slow nowdays, after I have spent at least $6.3k

I also count 240 fps in a the crashz crosshair map in the workshop. Considering I’m the only one in that server, my fps is extremely low. Something I’m doing is wrong, my previous pc also lost its performance quickly. My new one has a liquid cooling system as well. Should I consider spending $20k on a pc?

Well, on what resolution and settings do you play?

This is a 9900k in 1080p in CSGO ( with a RTX 2080).

https://prnt.sc/qj07nv

As you can see, even with that system you may see 0.1% drops down to around 140 FPS or so on high but the average framerate you see 99% of the time should be way above 600.

I really hope you are joking, a 1k PC is more then enough to play CS:GO without a problem with crazy high FPS.
Also , WHY do you want 600+ FPS? There is no monitor in the world who can display 600hz and everything above the refresh rate of your monitor will not be displayed anyway, no matter how high the FPS go.

Even playing over 600fps just shortening lifespan of GPU.

This one will only set you back about $18k:

2x Intel Xeon Gold 6240 18-Cores/36 threads 2.6-3.9GHz CPU, for a total of 36 cores / 72 threads
2x NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 TI for a total of 22GB of graphic memory
96GB of DDR4 RAM
Liquid Cooling
1TB PCIe NVMe SSD
3TB 7200RPM HDD

Jesus, a 9900k+2080ti build costs 2.5k... how'd you spend 6?

Recommending Xeon CPU for any kind of gaming.

For some reason, the closer the fps gets to the refresh rate of my monitor, the more lag I see. If the fps (When I used to get high fps) goes from 620 to 610 for example, I notice some not so smooth movement when I move my cursor. These examples of lag continue to escalate more and more exponentially the closer I get to 240 fps, and by the time I get lower than that, I just want to smash my desk. I play at 1080x1080 on a 240 hz LG monitor, 27” and the monitor originally starts at 1920x1080. My old pc was a little over $1k and it was a prebuilt dell with an i7-7700k and with a GTX 1050. It was running very well at the beginning, but then I noticed many more problems with overheating and the vast reduction in frames, until my dad let me upgrade. The pc was so small that we couldn’t and had to buy a new one for $2,300. Overtime, we upgraded an extra $4k, and the pc’s performance is still super low. I can’t even believe how low the fps is. If this continues, I don’t understand why some pros with a GTX 680 get 600 fps. What’s next?

Those "pros" play in 800x600 with everything on the lowest graphic settings possible.
Thats not even a joke, many really prefer it that way because it drops the game down to the most basic graphic but super high performance.

To each their own.

I play on the lowest settings too, I even optimized my GPU in NVIDIA’s control panel.
