I cannot use the free chat stickers or effects

Hello, the steam event says that there are new effects and stickers to use in the chat, but I cannot find the square button in the chat to use them, so I cannot complete the quest, do anyone know why I have not the button?

Did you click on the button next to the quests to redeem the sticker or the new effect?

Mayer gives us a free animation like balloons to use. It will appear in your inventory, open a friend chat and open your emoji's the animated is above, It only has one use though

Yeah that is strange. I got 3 balloon uses, and I still have 2 left. I redeemed it very late in the day so maybe they changed it or you experienced some kind of bug. That sucks you only got 1.

I don't think that's it, as a family member of mine has a limited account, & still got the free effect. No ideas as to why you didn't, though, unless it's just buggy.

I don't think that's it, as a family member of mine has a limited account, & still got the free effect. No ideas as to why you didn't, though, unless it's just buggy. :winter2019sadbulb:

Yeah, maybe it's a bug, I'll send a steam ticket, but, I want to know, where exactly is supposed to be the button to use the chat effects or stickers? maybe I have them but don't actually know where are them, still cannot get the free 3 uses effects clicking on the quest tho..

It's the usual emoji box, sometimes it has gift wrapping on it. The "special effects" appear above the emojis.

Try to relogin in your account. I had the same problem as you and it helped me.

This may sound dumb, but I'm just asking to be sure. You are trying in the Friend chat UI and not in the forums right? The stickers and effects only show up in the chat UI, again I know this sounds dumb, but I can't think of anything else.

I see you can't initiate chat with a friend using a limited account, but you can chat if a friend initiates it with you.

Yes, I'm trying in the chat box, then one where you just type what you want to say to a friend and you see what he says XD not here, on this window (forums), I can initiate chat with a friend, but the friend must send me the friend request to do so, when we are friends on steam anyone can initiate the chat,

That's basically the problem, I cannot complete the quest to get the medal of all missions completed

That sucks, I guess you need to spend 5 bucks if you want the key. It's just a badge worth 200XP, it's a nice looking badge, but you aren't missing much. I think it's worth it in general to make your account unlimited at some point, maybe now is as good a time as any, but that is of course all up to you.

Did you fully close Steam? Steam > Exit
