And in many other events. They just don't do it often because people get real pissy when they missout
So Valve is greedy for focusing on selling stuff (the purpose of a store), and you are not being greedy for wanting a store to give you stuff you did not pay for....
Interesting mental gymnastics.
Guess what, Origin has a sale, they're greedy too, same with Uplay, oh, oh, and GoG too, because they're not doing what Epic doing, isn't this wonderful... Let's rant about everyone for not doing what Epic doing, because they're not giving us free stuff like them, the wonderful joys of the gaming demanding rights we believe to have, and demand. I mean not like they're a company that out to make money, or anything...
Not sure, you mean the one time they gave out free game to everyone? That was L4D2.
In the past some of the Summer, and Winter sales they have events where random people are selected getting free games from their wishlist, ranging 1 - 5 games, depending the event, as one even does one free game, another was doing 3 games, and I think the one time the highest was like 5, not sure on that, but they have done so, there's stuff about people bragging about winning on reddit, and etc...
I thought they were referring to the GP2019 threads wherein speculators claimed "Valve not actually giving games" because so many people are just terrible with fractions of huge numbers.
You mean during a rigged race where 98.8% of the community where on the SAME team which decreases their chances of even getting said game? Grasping for those straws huh?
Epic's generosity has no strings attached.
So Valve is greedy for focusing on selling stuff (the purpose of a store), and you are not being greedy for wanting a store to give you stuff you did not pay for....
Interesting mental gymnastics.
Indeed sheep.
Valve robbing me of tokens I gave them money due to some made up date for while enticing me to give them a cent of my money for mobile/VN shovelware sure doesn't sound like greed to me. I'm greedy for not getting what I deserve (and THEY advertised) and having to put up with shoddy sale prices (which are better elsewhere).
Are you done yet or do you want this to continue?
If people undersood maths or probability, no one would buy a lottery ticket. Its one thing the average human brain is pretty bad at because we are innately invested in the outcome and we want to believe we will win so we can justify the cost of entry.
It doesn't take more than 10 minutes in X-com for someone to realize that 89% chances don't mean what they think they mean.
Stop acting like I'm entitled and Greedy Valve makes enough money as it is. I doubt they would even lose much giving away 2 titles but this is the same joke company that created Artifact with P2W in mind so what do I know.
Greedy Valve makes mountains of cash yet they never do anything with it besides come up with more hidden schemes to make a quick buck.
Indeed sheep.
Goat actually.
How can you be robbed of something that didn't exist, that you were not aware of, and that you were never promised.
You know there's a saying.
You want to make a man happy? Give him $10.
Want to make that same man miserable? Give the man next to him $20.
You're kinda demonstrating that right here.
Is that it? Why is Steam's lousy $5 coupon limited to ONE while Epic has limitless $10 coupons for purchasing $15 titles? Your inner sheep is showing
Except Valve has PUNISHED me for giving them funds while Epic has rewarded before even spending a cent. Are you sheep really this gullible? Greedy Valve is punishing most of the long time consumers for being loyal while Epic is rewarding everyone across the board.
Oh yeah and the 12 games are still FREE with no strings or BS attached. Some rigged race is going to change that or whatever boneheaded event Valve comes up with.
Greedy for not getting what you deserve, and they advertised? What they advertised not getting what you wanted, what free games? Not getting games on wishlist for free you demand?
A sale is a sale, also sloppy sale is when there nothing to buy, but with being over 30k games on Steam, a lot of AAA games, indie games, and your little things you dislike as well, would be hard to find a good game, I mean even thought we got a lot of good games on sale, but they don't count for whatever reasons, so let keep our focus only on things we don't like.
Greed, greed, greed, so where "my free stuff" to sum it up.
No one agree with Artifact, heck Artifact wasn't only kid on the block doing P2W, heck not even close in fact. They could make Artifact F2P, but that wouldn't solve the whole P2W since it's a card game, which looking at heathstone, magic, yugioh, etc, etc, and etc... The irony of card games.
Hey Valve, can you not like be a company to make money, and do what this guy wants, yea thanks valve. Love you too Gaben.
Oh but they will continue with the token event or how else would they make a quick buck from sheep and show offs?
*Yawns*
What part of "competition do you sheep not understand? It's pretty evident that Valve isn't trying because they DON'T have too with the herd of sheep around.
There we go again. Aritifact is microtransaction filled garbage just like most of Valve's titles which is what they were expecting to carry the game and make a quick buck in the process.
Not making money? They make enough money as it is from everything even with games out of the equation.
And regarding "free game to everyone"; it wasn't only one time/title. I know of at least one other instance, it's how I got Portal.
They don't have to do what Epic does that you keep ranting about that they must do what Epic does. Just like Origin, Uplay, GoG, etc are not doing what Epic doing, but I guess they're all greedy in your eyes for not doing what Epic does.
*Yawns* Oh man, with all these repeats, and trying to convince me, and everyone that no free stuff is greed, I mean it's just not working buddy.
Who not making money? Someone not making money? I wonder whom not making money?
It's a 10 dollar coupon and you have to spend a minimum of 15 and most of Epic's games cost twice that much. Welcome to basic marketing kiddo.
And then yoiu and others will be declaring Epic to be greedy bastards for not giving you as much free money as they did last time.
No they've pretty much just promised you taht if you spend x, they'll give y back. You could view the discount coupon in the same light. SPend X and we'll give you Y off.
You were not punished. You were just not rewarded for spending money in an equitable exchange of goods.
And yet Valve is actually providuing me a fair exchange for the money I spend. You consider Valve not giving you more than what you bought. I think the difference between you and me is that I lack your level of entitlement. I don't believe i was entitled to more than what i paid for. I believe if I pay for a dozen apples, I should get a dozen apples. You seem to believe that if you buy a dozen apples you should get 14 aopples. or the vendor is just being greedy.
You mean aside from the strings that:
-habitualize your visits to the store.
- Habitualize you to going through their checkout procedure
- That essentially are trying to bulk uop your library so yoyu feel a certain level of uinvestment in your account.
- The word-of-mouth advertising that you're doing ioin their behalf.
Sure. No strings or BS attached. You're young yet. Many of us however have seen this trick before . We saw it when GoG did it, When Orifgin did it, When Nintendo Did it, etc... but then again, parttern recognition seems to be a waning skill in gamers these days given how often they keep falling for the OMG you need to Pre-Order this right now! schtick.
