How do I find a group chat room to join?

I hope I do not need a friends list to do that.

If you belong to a group you can go to the group and its chatroom.

Create one and don't invite anyone (you are alone admin in group and still works)

If you don't want to make a group with friends, find a popular game (preferably one you like) and go to the community hub, then hit the link at the top that says group chat.

So tried this, clicked the chat thing, my cursor shows the spinning circle (win7) and nothing happens. Is the chat in the steam client or is something else supposed to happen?

I had that problem on a game, I just tried a different one and it worked. It also didn't give me the check mark right away. I did use the community hub group chat to get the check (100 tokens) though. I would try a different game, that's what I did.

edit: Thinking back, I think I had to restart Steam to get the group chat in the community hub to work, but I promise that is how I got the check mark.

Yea. I am having the same problem. Seems Steam is overloaded? I did not make my own yet.

Try restarting Steam. I remember now what happened was I thought it didn't work, then I reset Steam and the group chat I tried to get in before popped up. Making your own group is probably easier if you are having problems though. I can confirm what I did worked, but I also had some problems getting the window to pop up, and I didn't get the check mark right away either.

What I was doing wrong. You must log in to the friends feature to be able to join a chat. Now I have to figure out how to log out of friends.

so i got this problem today, and here's what i did to make it work, i oppened the steam at the browser, log into my acc, and search for the game i want, got to the community center and hit the "follow button" then i clicked in the game chat room button and it oppened in my steam app... hope it works for some1
