New Steam Voice Chat My Friends Can Hear Themselves

Lately while I have been voice chatting with a friend while we play Terraria he has been having an issue where he hears himself in chat as well me. This didn't happen before the new update which added the new look and features for steam chat, I tried with another steam friend also and they also heard themself in the chat while speaking. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue since the update also, it is likely just a bug which may be fixed in the future but just wanted to hear about other people's possible experience with this issue. I've noticed I can hear myself as well but it isn't very noticiable for me but my friend finds the issue less bearable. So please feel free to mention if you've had this issue and even list a fix if you have found one.

I've had this same problem for some time now, tested other calling platforms such as Discord and there was no problem at all. Please Steam support...

Hey? At least it's still better then being able to hear someone
even when your not in Voice Chat, o_@

If I can hear myself? Hey, I find that as a much better alternative.

I'll add mine to this. Had this issue on and off for years, Steam support doesn't care, every time it's been raised they suggest the usual fixes that don't work, then just stop replying.

Had this tonight whilst playing NMS on Steam with my son. Any way to stop hearing everything twice? Really doing my head in now.

I kinda found a solution for my problem:
So my headset uses a single cable for the microphone and audio, but to use it with my computer it needs this Headphone/Microphone Combo Jack splitter.

I bought a really cheap one since my headset didn't include one and as it turns out the cheap splitter cable was the problem all along.

I borrowed my brother's jack splitter (we both bought HyperX headsets) and started to work perfectly.

I also recommend trying other platforms for calls instead

I started using discord, it works perfectly. Now i cant even connect with a friend on Steam.

It happens also to me, I have a plantronics plugged by USB and it happens sometimes. My friends don't touch anything on their configuration and sometimes I can hear myself and sometimes not.
