Its been over 5 years (1984 days) since my ban in Cs 1.6 and i still get called out in Pubg forums and such even though ive already had professional ESL career (including their own software to detect cheaters with recording/screenshots), because apparently making the mistake of cheating calls more attention than going to jail for a year....
With "multiple" bans, that might explain it.
Multiple because getting banned in CS1.6 bans you from all of the Hl2 games of those days, like Ricochet and TF Classic etc
Highly incorrect.
Multiple bans are only displayed if banned multiple times.
Being banned in 1.6 does NOT ban you in Source games, only Gold Source games. But it would still only be 1 ban if you only cheated in 1.6, which it is not.

I cheated in Cs 1.6 (1984 days ago) and got banned from the following:
It shows as Multiple on my profile
Counter-Strike - View Help Page
Team Fortress Classic - View Help Page
Day of Defeat - View Help Page
Deathmatch Classic - View Help Page
Ricochet - View Help Page
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero - View Help Page
Nah. At best it's a warning in the "setting an example" way.
Otherwise it's just a tool to appeal to people's baser instincts. After all, it's okay to be a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to someone who deserves it, right?
Multiple bans only means being banned on separate occasions. It does not give you another ban on your profile unless you were banned again.
And Source is NOT Gold Source. HL2 is Source, while 1.6 is Gold Source. Pointing that out because you said this...
I said Hl2 cause i thought that was the engine, my bad
Tell me what my other ban is then lol, i believe my bans are public for another year and a half
It tells you here... https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/VacBans
You could have also clicked the "info" button next to the ban notice.
I know its a hard stigma, but it should be, that stigma prevents alot of us from cheating in the first place, and it should be harsher imo.
There used to be a time when they did lift bans, but that was phased out shortly after the won network was shut down after steam was established, those were some rough days, but this ui change takes the cake.
And I dont blame developers for putting vac on a singleplayer game, especially if that game has leaderboards. Games should be played the way they were meant to play, sure as a kid i had fun turning on godmode or nogravity, but as someone who just wants to enjoy the entertainment just as the producers intended it to be, its inconsequential to me. I dont cheat at multiplayer, and I dont cheat at singleplayer.
I did...
I was a kid, i didnt know how the world worked or even think about possible repercussions, and im ok with the ban, its fair. But people calling me a cheater after 5 years AND an ESL past just annoys me, its small minded in my opinion
I even streamed international games for my 7v7 team and had ACTUAL PROTEST in ESL of other teams accusing me of cheating but was dissproved (since i was streaming AND we had to use ESL wire that takes screenshots/records).
Rule number one is not play on devices that you don't know are safe. The anti-cheat systems don't care if you are actively cheating or that you're playing on a public PC loaded with cheats.
