If you're using any apps that auto config your game settings such as Nvidia experience, or AMD control, then turn it off as that might be why your game screen resolution is being changed.
Try posting here.

Then go to your desktop, right click, click "Screen Resolution", test all the resolutions one by one until you liked one, then press "advanced settings" at the same page, go to "monitor" tab, and test each refresh rate until you have the sharpest view.
Then visit your Graphics driver control panel from desktop and also change the resolution and refresh rate there.
You can also do this at in-game settings.
(Some games have a minimum resolution, which requires you to have a capable monitor with that default amount. If you don't, you gonna have to create a custom resolution from your graphics driver control panel and use it. )
I have no idea where can i find 'screen resolution',
sorry for my inexperience.
On top of the Steam client click on " Help " then click on system information. Copy what's in the box and paste it in this discussion.

This is how you can find desktop resolution settings:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Select the Settings icon.
3. Select System.
4. Click Advanced display settings.
5. Click on the menu under Resolution.
6. Select the option you want. (The "Recommended" always works well.)
Click Apply.
This is how you find desktop refresh rate settings:
1. Open Settings.
2. Click on System.
3. Click on Display.
4. Click the Advanced display settings link.
5. Click the Display adapter properties for Display 1 link. ...
6. Click the Monitor tab.
7. Under "Monitor Settings," use the drop-down menu to select the refresh rate you wish. (Test all and choose the sharpest.)
After you are done setting these, you will need to optimize the settings inside the driver you just downloaded; to do that right click on your desktop and click: "NVDIA control panel" and look for resolution settings from the menu at left side. It controls your desktop resolution too, so select the same ones.
Really nice to hear that; Don't be bothered about wasting times, I personally have a lot of time. :) Ask again if any issues arises.
Btw it's located at bottom left corner, the 4 windows near eachother, an icon.
