Why the RTS genre is dying?
RTS Games were successful, for example. C&C Generals, Red Alert 3, Age Of Empires, Warcraft. The games were great and some even all of those mention above, considered as classics.
Games sold well, many people love it. So why the rts genre so close to be forgotten for good?

Who says it is? There certainly seem to be a lot of those games in my activity timeline/discovery queue.

It's not. It's very active. Just very few developers make RTS games.
People just like saying it´s dying and forgotten for some weird reason. But you don´t have to believe them. They have no idea what they are talking about.
It´s one of the finest genres there is, and one of the few where matches are actually worth watching.

"people just like saying its dying". I got my own opinion, and i can see that almost every strategy game isn't RTS. Most new releases if no all of them are turned based strategy and in all honesty i got pretty tired of it.
You need to be good in these games. Ppl say Dark Souls is difficult, but really difficult are RTS.

It's hard to be good in many RTS, because they're all different (it's more easier to be good in many shooters, and overall genre is easier.

And many people like only one RTS, some like Starcraft 2, some Company of Heroes, some Wargame, they're too different.

AAA studios dont want make RTS but their games usually the best. Indies lack budget or skill to make good game. So we just play few games already exist.

I dont really care about new RTS anymore, I like the ones that already here, might play them for more years.

Ebb and flow of genres happens in the case of RTS the genre took some hard hits from a few very public failures and most companies see it as not worth chasing compared to what else they can do. Give it another few years when enough people are clamoring for another new one and you will soon see a dozen more AAA ones pop up until then you will just have to make do with the indie offerings and the remasters that Activision are putting out.

It is tiring. And that´s why it´s so good. You can maybe play 3 or 4 matches? And then you´ll be exhausted. That´s why it´s so good.
I can play a deathmatch all day without breaking a sweat, but not an RTS. It takes much more concentration, and the punishment for losing is extensive, and something you'll have to endure. People won't just give up, because they invested a lot. Which makes it fun to watch.
It's a real fight.

I'm curious for the remasters of C&C and Red Alert. Will take a while, but that together with Warcraft 3 remaster could be a nice kickstart.

Though the RTS that took almost all my time back in the day was Total Annihilation.
The next popular RTS would be from Blizzard.

EA killed westwood. And they were behind a lot of the best games. Just like maxis simulation games used to be all over, but EA killed them too.

I disagree. There have being plenty of games released. Such as grey goo, ashes of singularity to name few. Not to mention all the HD remakes its helthy genre, just that not a lott of people seems to talk about it anymore.

Tell that to S. Korea. They still hold huge tournaments for it.
