People just like saying it´s dying and forgotten for some weird reason. But you don´t have to believe them. They have no idea what they are talking about.
It´s one of the finest genres there is, and one of the few where matches are actually worth watching.
Tell that to S. Korea.
I dont care who says it, its my opinion, Maybe can you mention the games?
"people just like saying its dying". I got my own opinion, and i can see that almost every strategy game isn't RTS. Most new releases if no all of them are turned based strategy and in all honesty i got pretty tired of it.
It's hard to be good in many RTS, because they're all different (it's more easier to be good in many shooters, and overall genre is easier.
And many people like only one RTS, some like Starcraft 2, some Company of Heroes, some Wargame, they're too different.
AAA studios dont want make RTS but their games usually the best. Indies lack budget or skill to make good game. So we just play few games already exist.
I dont really care about new RTS anymore, I like the ones that already here, might play them for more years.
there is a cool (new ish) rts on the webs called 0ad. much in line wioth the older "age of..." games
It is tiring. And that´s why it´s so good. You can maybe play 3 or 4 matches? And then you´ll be exhausted. That´s why it´s so good.
I can play a deathmatch all day without breaking a sweat, but not an RTS. It takes much more concentration, and the punishment for losing is extensive, and something you'll have to endure. People won't just give up, because they invested a lot. Which makes it fun to watch.
It's a real fight.
Though the RTS that took almost all my time back in the day was Total Annihilation.
Tell that to S. Korea. They still hold huge tournaments for it.
