group name taken but doesn't show up

so I want to make a group but it says the name is not available (it's already taken) but if I search for that group, there's no group that has that name (neither the link, abreviation or name)
so what's wrong?

Without knowing the name you want to use, not really any way to see why it's not available.

The name simply isn't available for some reason. Even if you know the reason, how does that change anything? Just choose another one.

lmao. I know the name of the group i wanna create (duh) but when i type it, it says its unavailable, and if i search for it theres no group with that name on steam

I was hoping to bypass the "choose another one"
i really dont understand why the group I wanna create isnt available, there's none of them with the name i want to use for it

Maybe the name was used in the past but the group got banned for some reason. So the group may not show up, but the name is still in the database. Odds are that if that's the case and it the name hasn't been freed up by now, it's not going to be.
