About Eroge on Steam and School Uniforms.
Before anyone scolding me for making a porn game, I just want to describe my game a little, I'm currently creating a game using RPG Maker, It's an Eroge too but the game will be consensual no hardcore stuff like Tasmanian Asanagi.
All of the characters are also 18+ too (I can assure you that I'm not drawing a "18+" character with the height of a midget, and all of my characters will have gigantic boobs because I love drawing gigantic boobs :steamhappy: )
The story will also be somewhat age related, I mean, describing the hardships of a new adult (Whether you have to work and skip college, social pressure etc etc)

But the thing is... my game has a University/College settings but the students required to wear uniforms, and so there are no better words, IT IS INDEED will still be called school uniforms, although I made it based on my actual experienced here in my country, I'm from Southeast Asia where there are some Uni that has formal dresscode or just straight up uniforms, in Thailand for example, majority of Technical/Engineering and Tourism Uni in my country has uniforms too. (I think people here need to be disciplined before jumping to the real world of jobs and to avoid judgment from people, that's what the elder said.) so I figure out I want to create a cute uniform for the Uni.
Anyway, I just heard about School Uniform is a problem on Steam a while ago from a fellow artist so I just want to find out more about this.

Of course, the uniforms is a form of fanservice, I'm not gonna deny that but I have my defenses about it :D and my game is fetish based too, huge 2D boobs fetish, no lie between us.

Other than that, I'm not putting any crimes on my game, no underage character, no midget "18+" character, no adult like underage character, no forced sexual relationship and no torture, It's just a simple Eroge, with huge boobs and uniforms obviously.
Before anyone think that It's just me trying to make a loophole by stating "All of the characters is 18+" only, I can also assure that many of the In-game writings will also confirm about the characters age. (Since I read all of the related topic, that apparently has become a problem, many people slapped "All of the characters are 18+" when in reality they're very ambiguous)

So yeah, once again, my question is:

Do Steam have a problem with School Uniforms in general or my game will most likely still viable for Steam? I read the Steam Direct rules and policies and there's nothing about School Uniforms.

Please comment if you know about it, It will be a great help! and I'm just asking, if you guys think that my game is still dangerous, well, I can just shift platform.

No, it's just that they're uncomfortable with children "under age" + school + sex.

The uniforms isn't the issue.

I've recently played Tokyo Xanadu eX+, which has a high school setting -- and I've never heard about it being censored in the west.

From what I've read about the dozens upon dozens of ban titles using a school setting isn't a guarantee to get you banned by Steam but it certainly increases the chances.

Honestly I would advise to not get you hopes up and try to sell your game on other platforms that aren't so draconian and, let's be honest here, vague, opaque and wishy-washy with their rules and their enforcement.

I mean FFS they banned a educational VN about Esperanto:

https://noisypixel.net/valve-rejects-expression-amrilato-delaying-release/

The game didn't have any erotic content what so ever but OH LOOK ANIME GIRLS BETTER BAN THEM JUST TO BE SAFE.

DO NOT TRUST VALVE WHEN IT COMES TO ADULT ONLY GAMES.

Gabe himself had to put his foot down for Hatred to be sold on the store and that was the last thing I remember Valve doing that I considered a good for the consumer.

Edit: I forgot to add that the example game was allowed back on Steam BUT ONLY AFTER Valve got called out publicly about banning it.

Most games wrongfully banned do not get that support so again don't get your hopes up and have a back-up plan.

It's because I read this article:

https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/09/is-valve-still-censoring-adult-games-on-steam/

And plus, one of my fellow artist friend (He's the one who draw CGs for Huniepop) said his game dev also facing the same problem about School uniform too, I haven't really asked the detailed problem though...
