Where did the music library go?
So ever since the steam update that changed the whole library view, I have been unable to find the music library. I have looked all over and I am not sure if I am just as blind as a mole rat or if valve removed the feature.

Does anybody know what happened to the game music library?

Thanks.

Working fine for me, If you are having problems I would check "Settings > Music" and make sure that "Scan Steam folders for soundtracks" is checked, then scan again. Otherwise I'm out of ideas to what the problem would be unless maybe someone didn't have any soundtracks.

Yeah sorry, wish I could be more help. I even reset my database and then re-scanned, I'm getting all my installed games OST's, and then I added a folder outside steam and scanned again. Everything working as intended on my end. Maybe someone else has some ideas.

edit: Small correction, I'm getting the OST's I own for the games I have installed.

thanks... i have a friend with same propblem as me.. so something is going on...
I have Steam music games OST's installed and I always like to run my favourites while in Pixel Puzzles and Coloring pixels and any other puzzle game Im working on. It always worked fine before. I havent used for a few weeks now. Now when I try to run the steam music player it just wont play anything thats installed, this must be since the new library update , because before the new library it worked beautifully with no issues.

If it does not get fixed soon, I will not buy any more steam game OST's even if they 1's I want, as whats the point if you cant play and listen to them.

Are you guys having problems on the beta-branch or reverted?
I reverted today to see it it would fix the issue did a restart and still same issue , the player wont run my music. I tried both steam beta as I was in it, and opted out today to see if any difference and it changed nothing. So cant run my steam music player :(
i am non beta... never used beta

So you see the music but it won't play? Do you see the timeline move when you hit play? @ragefify50 says he can't even see the music. Very strange, I feel like nothing changed on my end, it's just like the old UI.

I can see my music just fine, but when I hit play the time line does not move. It worked before new library thats all I can tell ya. Hope Valve look into this and fix it soon.

Yeah that's not cool. hopefully they fix it for you soon, in the mean time I would copy the music or the folder location to another music player. Like copy the folder to your "documents\music" folder, I might also try verifying the file integrity to make sure the files didn't get corrupted.

If you want to wait for your son's help I understand, but I'm just gonna throw this out there in case others also have the same issue.

Game Properties > Local Files (Tab) > Browse Local Files...

You should be able to see a folder that says music or soundtrack, somewhere in there is a folder with the music files. You can play them straight from there, add them to a playlist, or copy them to your Windows/OS's music folder.
