Banned from Using Items from Workshop on Steam?
I've tried to search the subject, but didn't really find an answer.

Am I wrong to think that if you download something off the Steam Workshop, that it has been checked for cheats, etc and won't get you banned in games you may play?

No. Because that would not seem justifiable. I´ve personally never seen it happen. But if it does happen, I think you make for a decent case to have the ban removed.
That's what I would think, but wanted to know. I would think that Steam would check for cheats or if someone presented in something on the workshop that they would get the penalty and not the person who downloaded something in good faith. But then, you never know.

I wouldn't think a Workshop item would have any executable code. My understanding is that Source and GoldSrc based games check their files before connecting to a VAC server and reject the connection if any do not match the files used on the server.
