Single player or multi player? Realistic ( only vs nature) or unrealistic( zombies, monsters) ?
Do you want extensive item and base crafting or not?
And so on.
I can list a few of my favorites and you can take a look.

Best "realistic" survival game. After a global catastrophe your plane crashes in the canadian wilderness and you have to survive. Has permadeath. Single Player only.
You need to find food and water, need to sleep, craft clothes and above all else, stay warm.
There are some animal enemies in the form of wolves and bears but its not a combat focused game at all. Great atmosphere and artstyle and one of my favorite survival games.
There is a story mode and an sandbox survival mode, only played the latter so far.

One of the best zombie survival games. No permadeath ( respawn with some losses).
Need to eat and drink.
Single and multiplayer. Think of a mix of soemething like DayZ and Minecraft.
EXTENSIVE crafting and base building with hundreds of items.
Random world generation. Is still in development but very stable and fun at this point.

Very fun survival game set in the Conan universe. Lots of crafting, exploring and base building. Need to eat ,drink.
No permadeath, respawn at base. Single Player or Multiplayer.
Extensive modding and workshop content to form the game into something you like.

Fairly new and in early development but nicely polished already.
Basically a DayZ clone, you are a prisoner on some deserted island and fight other prisoners for food, water , clothes and other loot. There are also mechs that guard certain bases with good loot. Single player and multiplayer but more multiplayer focused. When you die you can respawn.
Has an REALLY extensive metabolism system which tracks everything you eat/drink , your vitamin and mineral intakes and and and.
A lot of crafting in the game but no real base building.
Only played it for about 30 hours so far but i had fun.
Only multiplayer
I already got 7 days to die and its the only survival game i got yet
Is conan still supported i saw an trailer on a new Conan game?
Idk about scum tbh since i didnt like dayZ
i want to know about Rust/The Forest/ARK-ATLAS?
thanks
The forest is a solid PVE, that can be played in co-op. The game is good, I don't own it but I've tried it a couple times. It also has a story mode that is really gooood.
Ark is a survival game that literally takes days grinding for good stuff, specially taming dinosaurs. The world desing is pretty, it has a lot of pve and there's algo pvp. But the community sucks too
Although there are some PVP servers, it's more a PVE co-op style game. The servers have a max of 6 player slots.
It's a hard game where you have to survive different seasons, which at the end of each of them there's a big ass boss that will try to destroy your base
Rust is a meh optimization, but The Forest as far as I know it's good optimized.
>owns a GTX 1080

The thing i like with 7 days to die is its an old game still supported with 0 DLC
Also idk adbout don't starve together i like more fps games
i want multiplayer
i like pve more than pvp
I should have added" it also ran fine ( constant 60 FPS+) on my old GTX 970 in 1080p."
And after playing it for 40 hours on multiple systems, YES, the game is fairly well optimized.
Especially in comparsion to trainwrecks like ARK/Atlas.
Just be aware that you need friends for "The Forest". You cant play coop with strangers, there are no "servers". You start a coop session and then invite your friends over Steam with you hosting the session.
"The Forest" is mainly a single player game, with a coop mode that came way later.
I would not go for it if you want multiplayer as the main focus.
