I live in Canada and my gf is in the US. This is retarded as ♥♥♥♥. Do I have to resort to buying from a key site? Because I have no problem doing so.

If the price difference between the 2 regions is more than 10% after currency conversion, you can not gift it. The original regional restrictions still apply, if the game has them.

How are they wrong I could buy half of steams store if I changed the currency to the Russian ruble then gifted them to myself through a fake account but steam dosent allow that for this reason.

I couldn't care less about what Steam is having problems with, they cou8ld charge the price of the location you are buying for (in my case USD), there, done. Instead they have lost several sales. ♥♥♥♥ them.

if i just get prepaid cards and use steam wallet to buy things , its still annoying not being able to gift others, in league i was able to gift friends on euw no matter where they lived , as long as they played on euw , when some currency changes happened , riot just adjusts the amount of rp you get for a 20€ prepaid card

then just buy a physical gift card and give them the code, currency auto converts. you only can't gift someone a digital gift card if you're trying to gift some random person the gift who you haven't been friends with for a reasonable amount of time.

State taxes are now applied to your purchases. Canada has their own. Valve can't charge you taxes for where you are not living.

EU has VAT added to the price in the store so, that would be even worse.
