Games run from steam refuse to run with dedicated gpu
Although i'm already set a game to use the dedicated gpu (i'm using a laptop with intel integrated graphics and a nvidia gpu, so i set the game to run on dedicated gpu at control panel) but when i'm running it ,it still didn't use that gpu (i've checked the process manager and it didn't use "gpu 0" or my dedicated gpu)

It's possible the dedicated GPU does not meet minimum requirements to run the game.

Is the nvidea gpu listed in device manager under the Intel?
How do you have the Nvideo connected to the laptop?
There is no gpu nvdea pci slots internally is there?
So is it external?
Power source?
Details needed
Try at your own risk and only if the nvidea is working>Disable the intel in device mnager
reboot. The Nvidea gpu should become the default.

Nvidia onboard graphics have been a thing since windows ME Jaunittaa. Essentially it steals system memory to power it. Worked great when games used the Q3 engine, probably not so great now.

Also made a Toshiba cost as much as a Jobs era Mac.

1.Yes its listed in device manager
2. Its connected, but it's render only (according to dxdiag)
3. There is an pci slot and the gpu is connected to it
4. No, it isn't external gpu. It's inside the laptop
5. The power source is from battery and from electricity

Your problem isn't with the game, it's with your GPU settings. You need to go into the applicable GPU manager program or power saving options and set it to performance mode, always on or using your GPU manager, set the specific game titles to use the dedicated GPU.

You can find instructions for this, depending on your GPU/program version/OS via google.

UPDATE :

after some testing, it turns out not all games run on dedicated gpu. I've tried running hl and it runs on dedicated gpu, but when i'm running metro 2033 (non redux) and shadow warrior, those 2 games didn't use the dedicated gpu when viewed in process manager

I've already done these but didn't work, the games i mentioned before still uses integrated graphics. Almost like these games didn't recognize my gpu and/or vice versa
