On one you are giving to charity, but yeah Steam sales are hard to beat. They'll usually get a few that are cheaper but nothing spectacular.
Start_Running Nov 24, 2018 @ 8:53pm
Some people don't notice that.

I just bought the division the other day , i think some sales are different over at humble bundle, but 95% of them seem to be the same like it is on steam haha. All good though, i shop at both places and yes i notice the Charity thing.

I feel the idea that I'm giving to charity trumps the idea that I'm giving the chunk only to Valve who is most certainly nothing compared.

I wonder if Valve has ever actually given to Charity. I only wonder, cause I've never seen them be anything near 'charitable' in anything that they do.

Yea Humble wins in my book.

ATTACK sure didnt take you long. :)

That one sure swung under my rader.. any others in the 13 years or so that I've been here. .

So yea.. okay.. not particularaly charitable.. while humble has donated far more I'm sure.

I also wonder why it is always warchild fund.. while there are so many others.

At least Humble donates proceeds from ALL sales.. and not just one event ..

Seriously I looked up Valve charitable events.. and years go by between them.

Yea.. Humble for me.... always give to charity.. I do not even choose for the half money in my own wallet..

Valve shouldn't raise money.. they should just freaking donate it .. rich as they are.

EDIT:

And HAHAHAHHA.. to that one where he says .. if you donate soo much I'll answer you questions.. GABE.. sheesh.. answer the freaking questions ANYWAY.. nice.

So basically

1) insult anyone who basically contradicts you
2) conveniently move the goalpost

Your trolling is getting old

As Steam? lol i just notice this.

While HB sometimes replicates sales from Steam they also have many bundle sales that Steam doesn't have.

I mean does it matter?

For me, I have Humble Annual, so prices being 'the same' as on Steam means I in fact save an extra 10% vs steam. So I might buy that game on Humble.

Sometimes steam has better pricing, for example I picked up the Hitman 1 GOTY for a bargain, which allowed me to also get that content in Hitman 2 for less than the GOTY 'upgrade' price for Hitman2. Sometimes steam bundles allow me to get more DLC content for cheaper than other site. I can't get the GOTY version of Hitman1 for that cheap outside of steam

On the other hand other sites can provide better discounts on games than steam. GMG is offering 20% off Civ6 new expansion, which given its price is attractive.

If the price is the same you might prefer steam if you have steam wallet funds. Or maybe you prefer Humble because you have some cahs back there.

Value can be relative to a particular situation

Humble sometimes has sales that steam is not currently having for some games for instance when I bought tokyo xanadu ex+ it was 60$ on steam but 30$ on humble due to a sale. I just use it as a place to see if there is a sale going on that steam is not currently having. So it's a good idea to check it incase you want a game but steam is not currently having it on sale for the game.

Most digital storefronts often have similar deals during event/holiday types sales, but even then there are enough that do vary to make checking out all the options worthwhile, especially if the game requires Steam anyway.

I think the bigger draw to HB are the actual bundles and the monthly sub though. Even though I often give most of the monthly games away It's still worth it for the few I do keep because it's so cheap and gives 10% off purchases.

Having options for other stores is always a good thing.:OGOA:

When in that post did I do that. ?

As far as the goalpost goes.. At least Humble bundle advertises the fact that I'm donating. Why is it that I am just finding out about these charitible things that Valve does.. oh yea.. they advertise them on REDDIT: .. like everything else.

Nice.. why did I not know about those events on Steam.

Not only that.. I thought that the 'developers' choose pricing and sales.. so in my opinion.. it is not Valve that made the event .. it was the developers involved.. interesting.

Whatever.. seems many people go around thinking Valve is a God or something. sokay.. For certain there are tons they could do better.. and quite a bit that they do much worse today .. compared to yesteryear.

No matter what Valve ain my friend and in my humble opinion they have gotten worse not better

Also having a 'fundraiser' even with the promise of Gabe answering 'qustions' only if .. is kinda rediculous, you howver may think otherwise.

HB dont have my country currency so buying game on steam that with my currency is actually cheaper.
(for some game)
