Sam.picker help

I use sam to relock achevments after i complete a game. because i thinkits better to keep track of them when your goingfor them. for example 1 time play enjoy the game but 2nd time i want to get all achevments. somereason i did it on my ff8 game and as soon as i bootedit up it unlocked them even though i hit new game am i missing something?

The Steam achievements for FF7/8 are tied to the SE account you used (so instead of Steam keeping track of what you do in game, it just checks with the achievements on the SE account, which track what you have done), so as you have them unlocked on the SE account, they will auto unlock on Steam if you try to reset them.

Edit: If you log in to your SE account here: https://membership.square-enix.com/users/sign_in you can unlink your Steam account and SE account. You should then be able to reset achievements without them auto unlocking again. Some features of the game will be unavalible though, like cloud saves and some boosters.

is it only those 2 ff games is it ok to still use for ff 4, 6, 12, 9

I have every FF on Steam (except FF11 and WoFF) and my SE account only shows FF7 & FF8 (as well as Nosgoth and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and I own alot more SE games than that, like Tomb Raider, Just Cause ect) so I either haven't linked the other games, or they can't be linked, so it *should* be fine.

just unlinked and tried it didnt work oh well prob something with those 2 game no worries

On the game launcher check that the accounts have been unlinked by looking at the top right of the launcher to see that your SE username isn't displayed and by clicking "view online profile". You might also need to go into settings and disable cloud saving under network.

You could also try making a new SE account and linking the game to that, then no achievements should be unlocked.
