Steam is deleting games/saves automatically?
Games that I am actively playing, and old games I haven't played, are getting deleted automatically. I've been playing slay and almost got the A islands complete, when the save & the game was auto-deleted???? There's also TRIII, but I think that one is presumably a -setup thing.
Yet having it happen to games I play like Slay, and KSP, or games that are on your system for awhile... is there a way to turn that S**t off? :steamsad:

If you have those games set to save to the Cloud, *turn that feature off*.

Steam doesn't delete anything automatically. You have to look elsewhere to find the source of your problem, like a broken harddisk, you not properly shutting down the system when turning it off, third-party software, ...

Yea... that's part of the problem, even when the game is re-installed, it decides; OH, YOU RE-INSTALLED A GAME YOU WANTED TO PLAY??? HERE, YOU MUST'VE DONE THAT BY MISTAKE!!! *deletes game* -.-

It would be wise to close Steam properly before you shut down your laptop.

Very often when people post about this, it's the fact they don't properly close Steam that is the reason for these issues. So let's try that at first.

You need to scroll down to "How to prevent".

"You need to scroll down to "How to prevent" "

I already said that I "Hard Shut-down my PC" and my stuff stays on...
That's not what even causes it, I said already that Recent game data (yes, a hard shut-down w/ out allowing steam to save all data FIRST may revert some DATA, and rarely the game), as well as old games (What is now the main concern), was getting deleted.
but it isn't just the data, it's the games themselves; shortcut no longer has a png, game needs to be installed, and all progress is GONE... like a completely fresh game.
For newer ones it deletes them quite often, but I'm not worried about THEM because when they get re-installed, I still have my data; I can find stuff like progress having been made throughout the game.
