Games like Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic?

I've basically all the games I want.
But recently I have bought Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic and oh my god, it is definitely one of the best games I have ever played in my life.
It is so good that I would seriously take a look at similar titles.

I'm wondering if you know some games like this one, with random maps generator and huge worlds to explore, that you think are worth to buy.

Yeah you're right. Disciples is not deep enough compared to AoW.

I recommend checking out the Heroes of Might and Magic line, especially Part 3 - You should consider getting the game on GoG though, as it contains the expansions that are not available for the HD edition sold on Steam.

Yeah the original is great but they butchered it in the remade steam version cutting out lot's of content. But original HOMM3 is a classic.

I would still recommend Age of Wonders 3 though. It's one of the best games of the type I have played in years.

Well, not really like Age of Wonders ... you could look into Dominions 4 or 5. Alternatively the Conquest of Elysion titles as well. They are incredibly more complex though and you don't have direct control over battles like you do in Age of Wonders. However I feel the general "gameplay" is very similar between the two since they are very much about building up troops and using wanton magic to give you an edge on the Tactical and Strategic level.

These are interesting suggestions, but the graphics are a bit meh.
Also, prices are a lot more meh.
I can't believe I have paid 2 bucks for Age of Wonders.
