spreading the word of a 3d zomboid
If anyone has not heard about " dead matter " being developed. It's currently set for aplha release testing towards the end of this year or early 2019. The single player and coop is based on the realism of project zomboid. The multiplayer is based on dayz. I just wanted to pass on this info for those dying for a more realistic and 3d fps zombie survival game. Having been with the Zomboid community for awhile, I understand your woes of something just abit more. Check out some of the dev videos on youtube. Its far from perfect, but it looks promising. Plus planes and helicopters are already planned. hehe

So realism, moding support, and attention to detail are my main interests in this upcoming title.

What more would that be? There is a ton of mod support, a fairly well-behaved community, and devs that actually talk to us. Unless you're only angle is the "3-D" aspect, I say no thank you.

i found it interesting, not like this should be the only game in the "zombie survival simulator" genre that anyone plays lol

this all seems to be the case for DM as well, which is why I mentioned it.

Never said it was. In fact, I play multiple zombie genre games. But he was doing a direct comparison to Zomboid, which a full immersion 3-D port it is not.

As a Canadian, I appreciated the Jimmy's POI ;)

Looks pretty interesting. I'm still new to PZ and the novelty has not worn off. I'm a huge fan of 7D2D (and now PZ) and wouldn't mind adding another game of this genre to my collection.

Not sure I'll ever get enough of this genre :)

The game sounds like a 15fps glitchfest.
With that said, I wanna keep my eye on it, this looks intresting & I cant wait to hear about the desing choices for the game.
Looking forward to it.

Yeah it looks far from perfect. But it looks like the devs care and they want the community to help mod/progress the game. So if it all comes together it will be a very nice game overall. I felt pretty on the fence about it until I watched a few dev interviews about the game. I still do not support the idea of preordering games. Though I will say, keep an eye on DM's progress.

Many of us have been following Project Zomboid for years and it's finally becoming the game we all imagined. =)

This is me too. Especially since there actually aren't many good zombie survival games in general. 7 Days is pretty fun, but I'm worried that they still haven't fixed infinite spawning zombies at POIs even with the A17 release. I mean when I tried it I had about 20 zombies spawn from a tent and just kept coming every time I killed one, like some kind of zombie hydra. So they are slowly losing me, but I hope they fix at least that. So far PZ is the best one on the market though. Very few of my deaths in PZ are due to bugs and can pretty much be traced back to a mistake I made, which I can't say that about 7 Days. As for Dead Matter, I actually backed it a while ago and I am kind of excited. The devs there have also said that PZ is one of the games that have inspired them and I think if they can pull off everything they're planning it will be just as good as PZ.

As you said though. I just can't get enough of good zombie survival.

State of Decay is a pretty good 3D zombie game, with limited base building. But the thing with that game is, you play as the entire community. You do not have one character, you play as each character in your base that is your friend. So when one character gets tired, or hurt badly, you switch to another survivor in your base while they rest or heal. Lots of zombies to kill, vehicles, buildings to loot, and you get to decide what facilities to build in your base slots. Very fun game if you never tried it. I would recommend a decent computer to run it, however. Because if you have a brick of a computer, zombies will do strange things, like warp through doors and walls.
