Origin still allows for Vista/XP
I have various hard drives that connect to my PC.

I use an updated Windows 7 for all banking etc..

My PC runs games best with DX10, because it is less demanding than DX11.

All of the games in my library run better on Vista x64 Ultimate than any other OS.

Origin has a cut down version that allows you to access, download and play your existing games on Vista.

All I ask is that Steam does the same.

I purchase my games with Windows 7 and would very much like to continue playing them on Vista x64

1) origin does not support vista/xp
2) origin's downloader for the legacy client broke 1 year ago

3) origin does not support vista/xp

Origin does support Vista. I have the client on this HDD. It was installed Jan 2018.
It is called the Light version.
It allows for Vista users to acces, download and play the games that they alreday have in their library.

I have Windows 7, but for my PC Vista x64 and DX 10 is the best gaming option.

I do not want Windows 10. Maybe in 3 years time

So, Steam should do this, because of a minority?
Don't think so.

didn't the installer from Origins Legacy client cease working well over a year ago at this point?

in your case your games will still work on your Windows 7 partition..

if things are working better on your Vista partition, its likely you don't have your 7 partitions drivers installed properly (given that Vista is in practice more resource intensive than 7)

I used Windows Vista Ultimate aswell. Btw can't you use DX10 on Win7 aswell? Games often offer that option I thought.

Usually just defaults to DX 11
