Generic USB controller (Zero Delay PCB) recognized as PS3 controller (SOLVED!)
Need some help here. I have a generic usb fightstick (custom made, generic windows drivers) that used to work really well on Steam. Recently, the client started recognizing the controller as a PS3 controller, and the buttons, icons, everything changed.
I have tried the config.vdf reset method many times, tried uninstalling the client, the drivers, everything. This seems to be a Steam issue, all other applications work normally
Can't manually config using big picture settings because the D-inputs are not recognized as they were previously
Thanks in advance!

I've opened I support ticket and they've just answered that they are aware of the issue and that this is due to recent changes in controller detection.
The guy said I should check beta client updates, but there's no date for it.

The thing I'm afraid is that, when the update comes, since my steam has already wrongly "auto-configured" my controller, it might just not solve the problem for me.

Maybe someone here could help

It has been solved!!
It's still on beta (you'll have to sign up for the beta update channell on steam preferences
A mod listened to the issue, talked to me on the beta forum and worked it out with the dev team:
