You could say Twitch a threat to Discord because of the Twitch client, but I see no one wants to make news about that, or talk about it like that, when you think about it, it's just buzz feed really.
+1. totally agree and welcome to the discussion
Click on the cog on the right side of the Friend's list, there's an entry labeled "Sign in to friends when Steam Client starts".
For the old UI:
Steam > Settings > Friends > Automatically sign into Friends when I start Steam
Completely removing/disabling chat has never been a thing. If it was that big of a deal you should have cut your loses a long time ago.

Use the beta client, there is already an option to not have you log into the chat an not have the window pop up.
They won't revoke anything they can't this is games as a service if they revoke my access to my games they WILL BE REFUNDING MY $$$$ not if WILL BE.. Look I'm not on steam to measure my ♥♥♥♥ with the rest of you I am on steam to play my games that I paid for.
Eisberg, it will probably be my best option to take a look at the beta client if this doesn't work. Which I know it's not going to by all the bugs in this client. It least that's suggestion is something worthwhile for me to try.

Neither an excuse nor a threat. You're asking for something that never existed. If it was a make or break condition, you should have reached that decision when you first joined Steam when the cost of walking away was lower.
Anyway who's 'they'? And who's licensing the games?
It can't be Valve/Steam because they also don't own anything but their own games.
For all games they not own, they are nothing more than a storefront and a storefront doesn't license you anything and also can't revoke any license.
THANKYOU @NeXuS23 for pointing that out to everyone... Sincerely Thankyou....
Now maybe all these Dumb A holes can shutup...
