Valve is terrified that Discord will open a digital retail market

It's why they are forcing this new buggy clunky garbage upon us. Discord has superior social features and over 130 million users. Valve is playing catch-up and the users are suffering for it.

Discord aren't going to be selling games, but I did see a video about this a few weeks ago (not about Discord selling games, but about Valve being scared of Discord), I'm pretty sure The Know posted it but I can't find it on their channel, but I remembered that the info came from superdata so instead I found the article referenced.

ATM it's just people trying to get click bait and are trying to do is make it look like it's a threat when it's not a threat to them at all really since Discord isn't even in the same business as any of the game clients that sell products, or supply the same kind of community, and other features.

You could say Twitch a threat to Discord because of the Twitch client, but I see no one wants to make news about that, or talk about it like that, when you think about it, it's just buzz feed really.

Show me where there is an option to turn all these new features off and remove them completly from this client and I will stop complaining. I don't wish to log in every time steam starts and also I wish to disable all of the new features such as the chat. I would like the module removed or for valve to let the consumer have his or her choice to have it in the client. My client is very buggy. It went from pleasent to very annoying. If some like it ... great but give others the choice to remove this mess that was just added and bugging out my steam client.

Completely removing/disabling chat has never been a thing. If it was that big of a deal you should have cut your loses a long time ago.

Use the beta client, there is already an option to not have you log into the chat an not have the window pop up.

I found the top helpful but still have a strong feeling I am still left with a buggy piece of crap of a client because of this poorly tested new chat system that recently forced on us from Valve. No, I won't entertain your last reply with the cut my losses smart ass remark. I am here to get my steam client fixed, meaning unbugged, and not for your excuses or threats.

Eisberg, it will probably be my best option to take a look at the beta client if this doesn't work. Which I know it's not going to by all the bugs in this client. It least that's suggestion is something worthwhile for me to try.

Neither an excuse nor a threat. You're asking for something that never existed. If it was a make or break condition, you should have reached that decision when you first joined Steam when the cost of walking away was lower.
