Looking for local coop (story driven) ARPG

Hey!
So I recently got my wife to play Destiny : Original Sin 2 with me.
Surprisingly, she actually enjoyed questing and roaming the map freely.
I found that what she didn't like about taking quests was having to sit and read 100% of the text with me (because I do 😭), so the possibility of splitting our party worked well. BONUS POINTS if you can split your party a bit!
However, she didn't like the combat system, which she found too slow. (so no turn based tactical combat sadly)

So I'm looking for something similar that you can play in local coop (splitscreen or not).

In terms of isometric ARPG I played Pillars of Eternity 2, and Pathfinder : Kingmaker as well but those would definitely have too much depth for her.
I also played Tyranny but as with Poe2, she wouldn't like the pause system anyway.

Ideally it would be something like Shadows : Awakening but with local coop, or a Diablo/Path of Exile with more focus on story instead of combat.

TLDR : story driven, real time combat (no pause), local coop ARPG

Thanks for your suggestions if there are any (I fear I won't find anything as there doesn't seem to be a lot of this kind of games)

PS: I already have plenty of coop games that she likes but I'm really looking for a RPG so that I can too enjoy it 100%. I mean Trine, Castle Crashers, the LEGO games and the likes are all awesome but it's not something I would play on my own

Hey guys, thanks for the suggestions!

I don't remember the combat being interesting in the Fable series and I will have to check out how kingdom decisions work in coop but it was a good game nonetheless

I had never heard about the Deathspank series but the combat seems a bit dumbed down and the customization options too limited (no classes, talents, skills etc) for me this time.. I'll look further into it though

Any other suggestion closer to things like Divinity, Shadows and the likes, or are there indeed no games like these including coop but not tactical combat?

Thanks, however we don't have a Switch, and Diablo 3, while having the type of combat she would like, definitely isn't story driven sadly. (I own it on PC)

The closest game to what I'm looking for is Shadows : Awakening. Check it out if you don't know it 😁
