Can I get banned for using any type of idle software?
I want to idle some steam games to boost my trust factor in cs:go. Alot of people have been saying you won't get banned, but I don't want to take the risk because I have an expensive inventory. The program I would want to use is SAM (Steam Achivement Manager). You can change achivements (I don't want to change achivements only idle) and idle hours for multiple games at the same time. Will I get banned?

Also I know that having alot of payed games will increase trust factor but if you buy like 20 CD Key codes from someone will that boost trust factor too?

Thanks in advance.

I doubt idling and cumulatively gaining play-time in other games is going to increase your trust-factor in CS:GO.

To answer your question, no, i am yet to see cases where Valve takes action against users for idling games.

SAM is an idler as well as a tool to alter achievement data.

Ensure that you do not touch the achievement tab.

Your trust-factor shouldn't be affected by how many games you obtained and your cumulative play-time.

Valve chose to remain discreet about the trust-factor in any case.

The following negative consequences can happen:
1. Artificially inflated gMe hours on your profile
2. If you stumble upon a shady fake idler, it may steal your Steam account
Otherwise, nothing to fear. Although indearoy hope that Valve are smarter than you are and dont let the trust metric to be fooled that easily.

Yeah, but Valve anounced that atleast hours in other games and on cs:go will affect trust factor. And that is true since my friends have a lot of other games like PUBG etc on their account so when they play with me it says that my trust is alot lower than theirs and that their match making excperience can get ruined xd

Fair enough, but as said, their trust-factor algorithm can't be easily fooled.

Most people will advise not running said software while also playing a game that has anti-cheat software or on Vac-enabled servers just to be on the safe side. Outside that, there doesn't seem to be any issue's.

SAM does not result in a VAC ban.

Game developers can choose to ban players from their game hub.

That is different from a VAC ban.
