There have been too many login failures from your network in a short time period. Please wait and try again later.
I know that most of you will say: "Wait 30 minutes" or "Wait 1 hour" but it hasn't been working. I have waited for a whole 24 hours. Even with the correct login information it says for any site: There have been too many login failures from your network in a short time period. Please wait and try again later.

I tried to use my phone's internet and it worked, but soon after, it logged me out after changing the network to my homes. I have tried to change my password but nothing seems to be working?

EDIT: Ok thanks for the 10 responses. It seems something is out of place with steam :(

EDIT2: Just got it working, waited 1 day.

I hope nobody minds I just copied and pasted most of my previous response instead of retyping it. I'm glad that the OP finally got back in but or anyone else struggling with htis you are definately not alone.

I tried to install the mobile app so I could do the 2 factor authentication. The app said the code they sent me was not correct (I'm sure it was exactly the same code I checked it 3 times and it's only like 5 characters long) but then it immediately logged me out on the app and asked me to re-login. After that even though I entered my correct username and password it wouldn't let me login and said too many login attempts. I've also been waiting for like 3 days to be able to log back in.

At first I couldn't log in to the mobile app, the website, or the destop client. After hours of frustration trying to navigate the support FAQ for help and trying to create a ticket I tried following the directions for a stolen account which basically is to reset your password... that did allow me to log back into steam through the desktop client but I have not been able to login to the mobile app or website. I'm afraid if I log out of the desktop client it will go back to telling me the same there too.

Combing through the forums for issues similar to our I've found several things that people in the past have said worked for them. None of which have helpet me. Maybe one of them could help you if you haven't already tried one of them. I don't know if these differ for MAC or linux or not and I don't know if you are using Windows but these were the things suggest which I tried to no avail on my Windows PC.

1. Make sure the time on your phone/computer is correct.
2. Close the mobile app and then open it again and attempt to login
3. Uninstall the mobile app then reinstall it and try to log back in.
4. Clear your web history and cookies.
5. Try logging in using a different browser (try firefox, edge, chrome, etc...)
6. Try resetting your modem/router to reset IP. Then try logging in again.
---> My IP did not change if it doesn't you must manually reset it . In windows go to start and type in "command prompt" in the command prompt window type "ipconfig /release" then once that finishes type "ipconfig /renew" and wait for a minute for it to finish renewing.
7. Restart your computer then try logging in again.
8. For the mobile app if you were using wifi try switching to data (I can't do this since my phone plan doesn't have data so I have no idea if this helps or not but using different wifi signals didn't)

Personally I think something is wrong with the STEAM cooldown system maybe related to recent daylight savings time changes? Maybe a bug in the app? I have never had login issues before.

I am having the same issue, tried contacting Steam Support but with no solves. If you know anything, please let me know. I'll also post here if I find something. It's been over 48 hours here with this irritating and strange problem.

Same. Get logged out of a game that 'requires' connection. Steam keeps coming back with an error.

Is steam being DDOS attacked?

Just brought a new game but its refusing to install. Brought game after struggling to log onto steam.

The term South East Asia does not normally include Australia.

I did say technically.. We are very close to SEA
Well, I'm from Brazil, so it may not be really some regional thing.

Just gunna add that I am also experiencing this problem, theres a good few forum posts on this issue.
I'm posting this as an update.

Recently, I tried loggin in again and it normally worked. I haven't done anything else, so try to log in now.

i solved it by turning around it , i restart my router to change ip address, it worked.
Cuartas Nov 9, 2018 @ 11:13am
Still no definitive solution for this? changing the IP by restarting the router is something only ADSL users can do, HFC or fiber modems don't just change IP's by doing that.
I've waited up to 24h and I'm still getting that message, as others pointed out, desktop and mobile apps can login with no issue
