Why can't Steam have multiple tabs like browsers?

So I can see more games at once and switch between them?

New Steam update removed that functionality completely, or is it only me?
CTRL+click and middle click open the link normally like a normal click.

If I right click and select 'Open link in new tab' it will open a new window with tabs, but it wont load the page and still opens the link normally in Steam.

Browsing games in the store became a nightmare.

Is there a way to fix this?

i remember way back when i wanted to check on 2 games at once, i just mousewheel clicked it without a second thought lol

had done that a ton to open new chrome tabs, and figured Steam would have tabs too.

was a bit surprised when it opened a new window, but didn't really care since i could easily check on whatever it was.

having tabs in the store would be kinda neat though.

Hotsauce is talking about the Steam app. Use middleclick on an item/link.

hmm idk but i opened my steam web browser using shift tab while in game and it had tabs
