Is DS4 Windows is broken?
this might be in the wrong discussion group, but unless anyone says anything i'll just leave it here for now.

i downloaded DS4 Windows a few days ago, and i've been having some issues. im using windows 10 btw. anyway what usually happens is whenever i try to create a new profile with custom keyboard bindings, the controller and software go nuts, creating problems which range from being unable to click a button on the software to the software switching through every tab on the menu until it reaches the "settings" tab, at which point it stays there (and if you try to switch to another tab, it goes back to that).

the controller is pretty much useless, as i cant play any games with it. the only game i can get to work is geometry dash and thats probably because i didnt make custom bindings on the profile. plus, whenever i go to my desktop and click on an application, it will tab through all my applications until it opens something like recycle bin or something. so i cant open apps either, and even when i can, the controller freaks out and is completely useless.

i seriously have no idea what to do. i've checked other forums which suggest downloading some windows stuff or something but it tells me i already have that software.

again, im using windows 10 and im connecting to it via bluetooth.

please help?

Is DS4 an abbreviation? From google it seems like it is a program that allows the DualShock 4 controller from playstation to emulate an XBOX 360 controller.

Before Steam supported the 360 controller, I used a program called xpadder to allow controller usage, and there were some fairly serious compatibility issues.

It also seems like you might have a drift issue, if things are cycling through.

I read the requirements, it seems they prefer you use a micro USB cable, and that the Bluetooth functionality does not work at all on Toshiba's.

From the FAQ -
I'm getting double input/ Weird input in some games, how do I fix it?
That's because the game tries too (though usually badly) support the DS4 on it's own. You can solve this by enabling Hide DS4 Controller in DS4Windows' settings, then connect the controller BEFORE you launch the game.

Looks like this software is being put out by one dude.

Opt in for Steam Client Beta. They fixed some Direct Input issues recently.

yeah, ds4 windows lol. im actually trying out another program called Input Mapper, which does the same basic thing as ds4 windows: it emulates an x360 controller to allow usage of a dualshock 4. as for "drift issues," ive never heard that term, but i assume i know what your talking about. (something that causes all the tabs to be cycled through when clicked/pressed) the thing is, the whole cycling issue happens even when i dont press any buttons, which is why i think it has to do with the keyboard mappings. and as for "double/weird input," these issues happen outside of games as well.

i've only configured the bindings on input mapper, but once i try it i'll give back results on how that worked out. (or didnt)

Apparently there's some bug with Steam client, my Xbox 360 wired controller isn't working with certain games even though it worked fine until a couple of days ago.
