Profile Privacy

Is there any setting that prevents my profile from being found? I can set it to private, but I want to be invisible, so that people cannot find me through "Add a Friend".

Just use a very hard to type text for your steam name. Or use the name that many people use like mine, you can c&p my name but you wont find me on "Add a Friend" list easily.

It's a social game platform for people who want it to be. For many others, it's just a program that needs to run to launch their games. Plus many points in between and no doubt beyond. "Purpose" is not universal.

I'm not saying you can't be found. By that I mean that you can always be found when they are known. No matter what you change your name to.

You can't hide, once your ID-number is know.

It may not be the purpose you want but it's what steam wants it to be and you agreed to use it and thus agreed to it.

The biggest thing you can do to prevent it is to hide your inventory if you have the bots trying to add you and not use 3rd party sites that check your inventory.
