Where have the AAA titles gone?
Steam seems to have become a dumping ground for every wannabe developer who just watched a two hour tutorial about Unity. I have a GTX 970 and have yet to hear the fans spin up...
(I only upgraded from a GTX 670 in anticipation of buying a 4k monitor)

Most of the stuff I have seen in the past 5 years looks like it was designed to run on a cell phone. Some even look like they would run on a first generation Pentium - back when all CPUs had a single core and speeds were measured in MEGAhertz!

Where are all the games that drive people to upgrade their PCs? Where is the next GPU slaughtering AAA title that would be the modern day equivalent of Crysis?

Wasnt the min recommendation for AAA tittle for 4k was like 1080 SLI or 1070/80 ti.

AAA games gone from front store because front store only shows what needed to , eg popularity, your preference , special or discount something like that.
Ofc AAA tittle that have been years old or arent on sale wont appear on front page unless trending or very popular.

Looking at noteable games that launched since January, nothing seems out of the oridnary to me in terms of AAA titles. There are also a significant number of quality AA titles that have been released. It's just easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of crap on Steam.

What the hell is everyone talking about. you want a list of Games that will push your 970 okay... gimme a second while I list them all. Most might not be Triple A titles, but I don't understand what everyone is complaining about.

since the Op's profile is private I cannot even tell what games he owns, to see and understand what he consideres good?.

anyway heres the list.

2. Prey

3. Monster Hunter World

4. Kingdom Come

5. Ghost Recon Wildlands

Buying a GTX 970 was a bad idea for 4k gaming. If you want to play at 4k with a GTX 970 then stay away from the AAA games.

Oh believe me, I intend to upgrade once nVidia fully releases their new graphics cards and independent sites (Tom's Hardware, Jay's Two Cents) have posted their benchmarks, especially vs the previous generation.

Crryptocurrency has totally disrupted the GPU market and I refuse to buy a single component for the price that I could build an ENTIRE SYSTEM! So after waiting out that storm, new cards are finally being released, so I can wait another month or two to upgrade.

I believe this brings me back to something I posted elsewhere: we need a way to "Sort by Recommended System Requirements" in Steam...

Because it takes time to make good games.
Not saying indies are bad but common if you are going to make cinimatics and voice cast then it have to take time.

Allso Pc gaming is not just Steam alone. You have tot ake into that as well.
I am currently excited for Tropico 6 and Doom etarnal both will be on steam.

Even though graphic card aren't that profitable anymore for mining the aftermath of GPU market still affected since all card still above MSRP.

I am not sure about RTX but certainly i am sure we also need AMD to make a move so there wont be Monopoly on GPU market.

AMD GPU have been drowned with overpriced crap thanks to cryptominers eversince and i don't see any price drop in my country since these tryhards still thinking to mine with it.

If you're looking for stuff from EA, Ubisoft and the other wannabe AAA publishers -- they have teamed up to explore Lootbox-County, and have since sailed to the promised "games as a service" islland. You'll find them there.

I never thought of EA and Ubisoft as AAA developers.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Crytek (Crysis), Bethesda (Skyrim), Square Enix (Deus Ex: Human Revolution), Eidos (Deus Ex Game of the Year Edition), Bioware (Star Wars: KOTOR, Mass Effect series) - actually scratch that last one; I just viewed their website and I was not impressed.

Now Crytek, whoo boy! I should have just gone to their website - their stuff is gorgeous! Dang! Its all VR...
