"Remember me on this computer"
Okay, this is getting really annoying. I don't really use my browser to access steam super often, but I'm getting really tired of it not actually saving my login info. This is my home PC, why do I need to get my steam authenticator out every time I log in from it? Is there a way to actually get the steam site to remember that this is my computer or am I going to have to go disable steamguard so that I stop needing to deal with this?

Oh dont disable steam guard you'll land in more annoyances than before.
As you say you dont use the browser very often, so for your security Steam simply asks you validate yourself again. Its really easy to do open the email copy the code insert code and log into browser. your done.
Use it more often and you wont get this.

Literally every other site I have ever gone to ever will let me use my password to validate myself. Banking, loan repayment, paypal, google. None of these ever feel the need to repeatedly email me asking if I really am who I say I am *before* letting me in. They might send a message saying "Hey, we noticed you logged in from a new place, let us know if you need us to lock your account while you get this sorted out" but that's it. All of those sites have the potential to financially ruin me in nanoseconds but they don't feel the need to add these extra steps.

So I would like to reject your response in its entirety. I don't care how objectively easy it is to copy-paste something, I shouldn't need to go to my email just to get into steam and post a forum comment. The mobile authenticator isn't any better.

When I ask steam to remember me on this computer, I want it to remember me on my own computer. If the only way to do that is to force myself to go to steam through the browser more often, then that's a pretty big failure in the design.

Sounds as if something might be clearing cookies.. have you actively been deleting cookies? What's the cookie experation time on your browser set to? Do you use ccleaner or any other software that "cleans" or "speeds up" your PC? Are you the sole user of this computer?

Yep, what he said. ^^ If you're clearing your browser history to include cookies, this will happen.

I'm not clearing them manually through any sort of cleaner. I'm under the impression that cookie lifetimes are defined by the website owners. Looking in my chrome developer tools, the cookies seem to expire after only a month. Personally, I think that's far too short and I would like some way to lengthen it.
