Keeping saves after wiping my PC
Due to some bad mods and incompetence I've managed to mess up my PC's files to the point where I'm going to wipe it. My question is what happens to all my save files? The games (Skyrim and Fallout 4) are saved to cloud but will I need to transfer the actual save files found in My Games to a memeory stick and then redownload them? Any advice on how I can wipe my computer but retain saves would be greatly appreciated.

Save-game files appear in many different places.

Use this tool; http://www.gamesave-manager.com/

As for your cloud saves: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

If the saves are cloud-sfored, you dont need to back them up.

Buy 1 TB USB Seagate expansion disc and start
Backup the entire Steamfolder. It includes everygame save mod and all data you'll need.
I did this when I downgraded back to windows 7 and formatted my drive.
My pictures also can have game screenshots.
My documents and my games also has saves. Take Assasins Creed it is stored in User name Documents with the simple name Saved Games no identifying name.

Once up and running installed Steam and copied back games folders then they appear as uninstalled in Steam library just r/click each game and verify files that repairs the connection and saves downloading them again.
I backup every conceivable thing I could even the folders in Common
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local << in here is games data saves etc Daedalic Entertainment saves are there as well.
Screenshots are all over the place.
The Steam backup tools etc donot include many of the games saves and the screenshot folder.

Save files normally appear in %appdata%, C:\Steam\Userdata or C:\Steam\Steamapps\Common\(example)

Thanks all for the comments, as it happens the correct save files are in Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Saves. Due to the mess up with my fies this where the most recent saves are, plus 3 Skyrim code sheets and 3 prefs. Will these methods still work?

I own Fallout 4 and Skyrim. I had to reset my computer 3 times. I still have my old saves thanks to steam cloud but you will lose your mods.

That's fine, do you know how to manually upload to Steam Cloud?
