No, not possible.

You can try family share.

At the moment you can't (and you won't until a legislator will decide otherwise)

We need push on legislatos to do proper laws that enforce this on big corporations like this one...

It's not because of steam that prevents this but the games tos as you do not actually own the game and do not have to rights to do so.

Allowing this to happen will simply create another "shady" marketplace for people to resell games and game devs do not want this to happen obviously and it can cause issues with hacked accounts.

The second you do all those lovely low prices, deep discount sales and cheap bundles everybody likes to take advantage of will vanish into oblivion.

Game makers only accept making such small amounts from each sale because they know each copy won't be bounced between a dozen different players so they can go for making a smaller profit on a larger amount of sales.

there is no money in it for the devs, and game do not suffer from wear and tear like clothing or cars. everytime you install a game you are installing a brand new copy of the game, your computer is the only thing that is wearing out.

If a country made it a requirement that the license can be resold, the game dev's would most likely start locking out that region. Cant break the law if the game is not available for sale in your country

Or more likely rebrand the games as subscriptions or services rather than products. Those are non-transferable by law. Its why you can't sell your life-insurance policy to someone else. Well technically you can but the party providing the service is under nbo obligation to honor it.

Yeah. Let's do that. Everybody knows that if companies suddenly have reduced profits they do nothing but go "meh, can't be helped."

This totally wouldn't backfire on us as customers.

So if i give it away freely i must be punished because of possible frudulent behaviour? Weird. There is no money made for anyone if I want to give it away..

Exactly. That person you give the games to will never spend money on any of those games. Now have millions of Steam users essentially passing around game rentals and you have completely ruined the platform.

Have we been at different sales? Publishers stoped offering deep discounts 3-4 years ago when they figured extra volume doesn't make up for per-unit lose. Same for bundles. When I joined Steam I got Bethesda bundle at 85% off and it included FalloutNV that was a year old.

They stopped that right around the time Valve introduced the refund system.

Yup. There's a point when you realise hacking off your own limbs for sustenance actually just leaves you worse off.

Lets say something like this does happen....

Dev would no longer sell games but rent/lease them out for a amount of time. In the end it would be bad for all of us as gamers.

That's already started with services like EA Access. I actually don't mind that so long as I still have the option to purchase the games I really enjoy but it's perfect for multiplayer games where the game will eventually die and be basically unplayable.
