Can I have two computers running the same steam account?
In one of the games I play, trade with other players is only possible if you are online in that game.
I want to play other games while that one is open, but my main computer isn't strong enough to run 2 games at the same time.
If I install steam and that game in a notebook I have, will I be able to run that game in the notebook while I play another one in my main computer?

I hope I was clear. Thanks for reading.

According to my friend, who tested this, you can run steam on the same account on two computers at once, don't know about playing games tbh.

I'm pretty sure you can only play one game from your steam library at a time.
You can play two games from the same steam in a computer.

Yeah, I just wanted to know about two games in two different computers.

This worked. It's a pity that the game I wanted needs steam to be online.

So go offline on the PC that doesn't need to be online, and go online with the one you actually want to be online with?

Be careful. I did this on the same computer once and my account was flagged and restricted.

What I did was idle a game for cards under wine, while having a separate instance of steam running natively under linux in offline mode playing a different game.

I then got a notification through the steam client that my account had been flagged for suspicious activity. At the time, I thought it might have something to do with my community market sales, since I had just sold a very expensive item at precisely the same time.

No explanation was ever given by support. They simply lifted the restrictions on my account and said there had been some kind of mistake, and that they were making some kind of note about my account to make sure that it never happened again. To this day I have no idea what that mistake was, but I now think that it might have been because I had been running two instances of the client for the same account at the same time.
How long ago was this, because the client hasn't always allowed multiple logins at the same time. That might have thrown up some flags, seeing two separate installs so closely together.

Well that theory is out the window then.

Who knows.

Yeah, but I give somekind of importance to steam achvs, and you can't get those if youre in offline mode.

Sure you can. They just all come at once when you sign back in.

Unless the game was coded by a monkey and wasn't properly done. It's happened one or two times.
