How to reduce ping?
I know this is a stupid question since ping is determined by how close you are to a server. I am from malaysia and the game server is in Japan. My ping in the match is 160 while my singaporean friend gets 90 only in the same match as me. I google the distance and my distance is closer to Japan compared to him. I've tried the registry editor method on windows 10 already. I made sure everything is closed while gaming to ensure no network interuption so it must be something wrong on my end. Any ideas?

There are no ways to reduce ping other than getting closer to the server location. If you're too far away you'll always have high ping.

Whatever you did in the Registry editor, you should stop doing that because messing around there will never fix your ping.

But about the case with my singaporean friend? He's further from the server than me
How do you connect to the internet?
Ping can be affected how far, how stable the connection, and if by chance may be a port issue which you have to open up.

For peer to peer it's vice versa on connection, stable internet, how far, open ports.

With little Google search help you can figure it out.

I'm pretty sure i did that. If i did find the answer by googling why would i even post here? Obviously it's last resort. I've port forwarded all the port needed for the game. My connection is stable and again for the distance, my friend is further away and lower ping.
Well i give up, i guess it's because of my country's internet as it's in the top 10 slowest internet in the world lmao

What? What are you talking about? LTE is for phone signals. I'm using a router

There are a ton of people out there that tether their PC to a phone and use LTE.

I'm not using that if not i'll mention it already since most times using phones tethering has worse connection.
Well for one, you may have some problems with the network infrastructure leading to the server causing this issue, compare to your friend.

Two what exactly did you use for ports?

Three do you have a firewall cause an issue by any chance? And what is it you're using?

Four are your wired, or wireless? What your speeds for download, and upload?

Five what your system full specs, is anything struggling to handle the game?
For the people that use it, it is usually faster and more reliable than whatever bottom-tier isp they have in the area.

But you still haven't answered Reboot's question of what type of connection do you have.

I believe it's my country isp since I met another player that has the same ping as me and is in the same country as me.

I've open up port 3074 and 27017 since faking cod black ops 3 uses peer to peer.

No, i dont think my firewall is having any issues. Im using windows defender firewall.

I'm using wireless. DL speed is 500kb/s while upload is 50kb/s

I think i can handle the game well. Gtx 1060, i7 7700hq and 8gb ram. Running on windows 10

I'm using cable. I can't use phone tethering since i can't open up the ports even if it's faster but result in worse connection.
