Steam audio stream preventing computer going to sleep?
Just recently noticed my computer was not automatically going to sleep.
When I ran a 'powercfg -requests' command I could see the following:
SYSTEM:
[DRIVER] USB Audio Device (USB\VID_1038&PID_1248&MI_00\8&14db5915&0&0000)
An audio stream is currently in use.
When I removed all audio devices the message became:
Steam Streaming Microphone (ROOT\SteamStreamingMicrophone\0000)
An audio stream is currently in use.

I have only recently noticed this, and only recently had issues with PC going to sleep, anyone know what the crack is here, and how to fix the sleep issue?

did you ever figure this out? Just started affecting me. Went through a ton of trouble with power settings before i saw this running via powershell.

Old post, but I had the exact problem on a brand new PC build. After running powercfg, I isolated the problem to Steam audio. The audio driver would not release after exiting the game and Steam app (fully exit in tray).

I was using an external Pioneer speaker. Updated, disabled, etc. all the drivers. Finally just unplugged the line out cable from back of PC after exiting Steam. Powercfg immediately cleared. Still think it is a Steam issue because the same speaker had no problem releasing driver after using other audio apps (VLC, Spotify, browser YouTube).

Just a workaround, but after Googling for 2 days, thought I'd add this to the pile.
