The more you know... Can't say I'm surprised. It did venture deep into "questionable" after all. But we here are facing a problem of people generalizing and attacking indiscriminately.
Or at least it shouldn't be, cuz Steam is now threatening to ban even censored games.
Do we defend these games? I mean there is a line, or is there not? What crosses the line...I am fine with steam saying no to things
...which yes is a terriable position to defend, yeh...
Personally jsut goes to show no easy answers, no simple solutions, which is why I will defend VNs in general - fight against silly censorship - but I have lines, things I think shouldn't be....and yeh the poster of this probably knew what he was doing bringing it into the argument
Do we say - this can exist - but censored only, but this should exist uncensored?
So no, no easy out or answers BUT to tar EVERY VN the same, is just silly and is not resolving anything
That sums it up nicely - not every VN is the same, and how Steam engages with this issue is important
Wheres the right in that
If anime tiddes are treated diffrent to normal tiddies then this isn't resolved it's just pushed aside and steams done nothing
the staus quo is quite frankly not sustainable
There is none. It's what we are trying to convey. It's a textbook example of a double standard. The arguments used against visual novels so far:
- they're not video games, because they have no gameplay
- they show sexualization of underage characters
- if you remove the sexual content from them, you have nothing left
These "arguments" are however based on practically non-existing research and minimal hearsay knowledge, combined with ignorance, density and denial.
Extreme gore and violence is completely legal where a bit of nudity is death penalty!
See how the "law" on west is twisted? I'm surprised this culture exists. Sounds crazy in my book.
"I think everyone who go to the beach should be jailed, cuz there are children in bikinis there, showing a lot of skin, sometimes even without any clothes on chest."
Western culture nowadays on the internet => shows a beach photography or any kid doing any random funny stuff => followed up by a FBI knock knock joke. It's full of that on 9gag for example.
So they went after small companies that didn't generate much money thinking it would make the issue go away.
Actually they aren't now and your trolling is pretty idioctic some of the first ever games on pc were text based you're just some salty lil five year old cod kid.
