In my opinion no. If the drivers work fine keep them.
I update manually.
My reasons,
Not all drivers are fully tested at release.
The main part of the driver update is focused on 3D and VR and I don't use that.
It says optimized for games I dont own.
The best way to decide is to check out the Nvidia site and what new in the drivers.

Well yes, but actually no.
Not all drivers update fix and improve things, especially Nvidia drivers...

As example the redistributables in Steam needs no update every time a game starts. Simply deny and ignore the window. Those drivers and packs are installed during the normal product installation or with your operating system/graphic driver.

As Jaunitta wrotes...do it manually.

NVidia Updates are not necassery every time. It's more paid advertising for new games with version-numbers and refreshing of their telemetry service.

Bios drivers as example cause damage if something goes wrong from distributors. Same for windows updates and everything else.

If possible, read changelogs/version history before updating. It is not always advantageous, or necessary.

I have never encountered a driver-problem, so I update some drivers occasionally, and most drivers never see an update.

So for playing csgo i dont need updates right?

You could just use the express update through Nvidia a few times and then use a clean install then go back to install with express again.

Repeat this and it'll be fine. But you shouldn't just use Express install only because you will end up with problems if you have done it for a long enough time.

I had that problem with AMD drivers when I just had kept installing them onto each other. It was fixed with a complete re install of the drivers.

Updating your drivers is fine. The main question is, should you be always using the latest drivers? The answer is no. Just wait a bit to see if others encounter problems. If there aren't massive problems, update. If you encounter an issue, roll back to a previous version without issues.

Never thought about that

Does lot of ppl on Steam tell about driver problems?

Generally, no. The nVidia forum is the usual place for nVidia drivers.
