When Five out of the top 25 top trending games are Free To Play, I begin to take issue with the future of PC gaming in general. As a community I feel if we want to sacrifice quality for being cheap bastards, then continue this trend. I'm kinda sounding an alarm here that will resonate until people realize what happened before it's too late. Let's not rob talent of their incentive to do great things by adopting this alarming movement is all I'm saying.

Final point is, if you wanna play android games on your PC have at it..

Maybe next time, look up words similar to "IS PC GAMING DEAD" or "PC GAMING IS DOOMED".



Literally every couple weeks. More of the same.

If you don't like free to play or battle royale or dating sims or whatever else under the sun, you're absolutely free to not buy them or play them. Got issues with the publishers of those games? Send them a politely worded but reasonable explanation of why.

The existence of several thousand NOT free to play and NOT 'whatever else you don't like' beg to differ with your opinion on the state of the industry overall.

The problem is "ftp" games is they tend to rake in a ton of money through "microtransactions" and are really not very free in most cases.

I would agree that the overall amount of greedy trash grew over the past years, but it's wrong to assume that proper actual games declined. There's less of them in relative numbers, but that doesn't mean gaming is dying. It's just that gaming is expanding to the hollow masses which like shallow cash grabs. There's still more than enough proper games) for people preferring buying a playable game and playing it.

OP, just because it is an FTP game does not mean that no money is earned. If that were not the case, nobody would. Developers are not stupid or pure philanthropists................

It was about $10 a week for over 4 years. Thats what "free"2play is.

Those are the people that allow the existence of f2p games; something like 15% of peopel, on average, ever spend money in them. The revenue needs to come from somewhere.

Im not even complaining about the $$, it was the equivalent of coffee money, just pointing out that people can spend a LOT of money on those games.

I have an insane friend that dropped over 3K on some mobile game over the years...i think HES crazy, so its all relative.
