Windows Hover-preview stopped working

Just recently when I would hover over steam on my taskbar, it would show a preview of steam, my friends list, etc. And just recently, it no longer does. It will show a preview of steam if friends list and all other windows are closed. Does this happen to anyone else? I missed it, it quickly showed me if I had notifications waiting.

Open the windows you want to view and minimize then again. Does it still act that way?

grateful for the response. Do you mean just minimize, and then hover to see if it works? No, unfortunately, minimized it doesn't work either.

Both minimized and non-minimized it just looks like this:

Steam
Friends List
Friend's name window.

no pictures. And all my other items do have previews. Does it work for you? It usually would show all of them side by side :(

Oh... correction. any tab that has multiple windows now don't show previews. This seems to be a windows issue.

Okay I found the registry fix, and the cause was probably traced back to me ticking "save taskbar thumbnail previews" in system/performance options. Nice to have this back.
