the gift card lets you give your family/friends money they can add to their steam account to buy games/market items they want.

would you sell a card you had to pay $50 to get for less then $50? most likely that site was fake or selling fake/stolen codes. use them at your own risk, if you get scammed, you are on your own.

It's possible someone got a code for a gift and is trying to sell it to get their money back but thats a huge risk as you can quite easily get scammed.

There is no way to buy a legit code for steam for under retail outside of a sale.

Chargebacks can happen. That's what revokes the money. And puts you into a negative balance with an account lock.

Sounds more like you got a manager that didn't know what they are talking about. I've gotten them at discount before but its very very rare.

I'd call BS in the case that someone misprinted a steam $100 giftcard with $20 off, especially as they were also selling at the same time $50 xbox cards for $10 off.

incorrect, that site sells people used codes, demo and press codes as full game, fake codes, etc. they are not an authorized reseller, they DO NOT get their codes from the game developer/publisher. the game developer/publisher sees no money from any sale on that site.

also, DO NOT BYPASS THE FILTER. its blocked for a reason. you dont have to like the reason.
