Do you feel betrayed? +1 if Yes
I was a beta tester. I feel betrayed because I posted negative feedback way back during beta testing pre-launch.
BEFORE POSTING, I searched for negative feedback to know I wasn't the only one.
DOZENS of posts with negative feedback (Didn't count, don't remember well, but it was A LOT)
I leave beta testing because I can't stand the new UI
They just launch this mess anyway

I feel betrayed and sad because the steam client and its community were a good thing, and what was done is an offense against the community and the beta testers

0 games bought this sale, and I definitely would buy some
Finishing games I have and moving on, never will use any "gaming client" again

No.
I love the easy access the new collections and easy way to access community content.
Finding games I forgot I had.
Performances issues I fixed with some tweaks Steam discussion is full of solutions on that.

I am glad someone likes it because this UI change is nothing but bad imo, bet epic or wtv their name is got someone to infiltrate Steam, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ their entire leadership structure, and change this just to push long time Steam fans to competitors like them...seriously tho wtf is wrong with these guys, just add options to the UI, don't force people to use your new and "improved" mess of a change...please.

I do not, no. Betrayed is extreme.

Yeah, I wouldn't say I feel betrayed. At worse, I am slightly annoyed, but it doesn't go beyond that.

I am sure others could add more reasons, but that's enough for me to limit my Steam use and use other digital providers.

In general Steam as a middleman overemphasizes its importance [/quote]

Reasons:

Steam was more than a game-launcher, it is a community access tool.
There are other gaming communities, like Reddit, and Facebook groups but there are no games. Only communities. Reddit community is particularly strong.
The Steam game launcher worked as a community binder and game organizer, offering powerful tools and a customizable interface that was sleek AND lightweight, all-in-one.

Even solving the performance problems, as said by the thousands of negative feedback
Sleek is something that the new UI is not. Particularly for players with thousands of games in dozens of categories. Overall, more clicks and less tools to do categorization, and harder to get the information on screen that was easy on the old Detail View

Nothing beats the old detail view and small mode
The closest currently for it is using the -nofriendsui -no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist AND STILL USES RESOURCES AS PREVIOUS UPDATE OMFG
It is bloatware UI-WISE AND PERFORMANCE-WISE
Overall, hard to categorize games, hard on the eyes, relative to the detail view or small list with its powerful AND super-quick search + tooltip categories clickable in a very concise way

HECK, the new UI's most concise list fits about half the games in the same space of old smallist/detail view, everything is spaced out with emptiness but images forced on me

Not only me, but ideologically, thousands just despise bloated software AND forced on software

If the tool that binds the community is not good, then the community grows weaker too.
Many players that loved Steam feel now less compelled to post screenshots and use Steam as a community because they were denied of their choice of a sleek, lightweight UI.

The betrayal is the fact that hundreds of negative feedback on the beta feedback were simply ignored pre-launch. That was a stab in the back.

I always had screenshots and posts by friends n the activity view of the community.
I don't have that anymore because my friends, all of them but one, hated the new UI, so activity view is empty since new UI launch for me.

That is a signal of how bad things are. My friends are too pissed to post anything while before they're post-a-holics.

I agree.

I know of some things not looked into while it was still in beta.

I do feel somewhat betrayed. I know you can turn off suggestions in the new UI, but this is a creep in the wrong direction. When many platforms are doing this, and people are getting tired of it, do you want your platform to be the last straw that makes someone stop using your stuff? I applaud valve especially for really putting effort into Linux gaming, for that, thank you! But this UI is a step into the shove-in-your-face-to-buy-it world we hate, and why we used to liked steam. Tread carefully Valve, you're slipping. The amount of effort you put into this UI you could have been building Half life 3.

DO YOU FEEL BETRAYED? +1 if Yes

Valve was never asking people's oppinions on if they liked, or disliked
the new STEAM UI Platform...

The only thing they wanted from BETA Testers, were feedback on what
needs fixing, & what is broken, & such, & such to eran out bugs...

They were never interested in if people liked, or disliked it at all...

It was something they were always going to launch, with or without
their fans, they didn't care what we thought...

It was their goal all along, ~_~

So weather you felt betrayed or not, it did not matter...

Honestly no matter what I think, my thoughts on what Valve does
in their Updates have been negative since the very first Update
after I joined so many years ago, I have give almost barely any
positive feedback since... But I was never really ever a Fan to
start with, so if they screw up steam, & it dies one day, I can't be
one to go & say I was betrayed, because I never really trusted their
System from the start...

I don't feel betrayed. I left feedback, a list with bulletpoints and that list ss pretty much still the same at this point. Annoyed is a better word.

However, I also know and understand that the other party isn't obliged to take and use the feedback just because I give it. They take what they want to use and that's that.

The new UI (mess) is something I would expect from a cheap data mining app for my phone. For steam to implement it on the worlds largest Game platform is either madness, stupidity or suicide.

No
Steam/Valve never promised me anything.
I have no problems with the new UI.
But more customization is always good, even if I do not use them.
tu-shady 2019 年 11 月 4 日 上午 4:11
More so disappointed. I'm only using steam because of it being an requirement (DRM). I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole if it was not required. But now for sure I'm not going to purchase any games that are only available on steam. I mean there other means to enjoy them if I did really want to play it.

Heck I read somewhere the buggy mess they forced out was two versions behind the latest beta at the time which had already gotten it fixed. Are they trying to pull off some trick to say, "see we quickly iron out those pesky bugs for ya" - Big if true.
What a complete joke, releasing it in that state in the first place.
