They have since 'addressed' this in a new beta update by not showing unlocks for achievements that are hidden.
Of course, that doesn't accomplish jack, as there are a LOT of games with spoiler-heavy achievements that do not mark them hidden.
I can confirm it is.
No it is not fixed.
The new beta only prevents achievements marked as "hidden" from being published to the feed.
And there are many, many titles which do not mark spoiler-heavy story-driven achievements as hidden.
Under the old UI, you could avoid opening the detailed achievements list which would display the achievement titles and descriptions and you'd be comparatively spoiler-free. With the new UI, the feed will push that data in your face regardless.
