bandwidth-limit / throlling for steam-downloads seems to have no effect
hey there,
as a heads-up: either downloads-speed shown by the steam-client is not giving acurate readings OR it is downright ignoring any throlling-setting.
As I try and be a good member of this household I usually set a download speed-limit on steam-downloads during the day. 50MBit connection, so I usually limit to 2 MiByte per second in order to still facilitate other traffic.
For a while now (a few weeks) my steam-client seems to ignore any speed-limit set and just fills up the pipe, no questions asked. How come?

playing around with speed-settings a little: chosing 1000kb/s seems to make downloads throttle to exactly 2Mb/s ("current network-usage"). Does not compute in my mind.

Could it be the drop-down list got it's entries mixed up during a recent coding-session?

To clarify: when setting a 2MByte/s limit, "current network speed" was flatlining at a reported 3.5MByte/s with a reported peak of 3.6
Maybe this is an isolated phenomenon, maybe not. Hope this is helpful information!
regards

Make sure you get Mb/s and MB/s right.

noted.
sadly this does not negate my observations.
