Steam Community Market Taxes
So I still don't get why Steam taxes you on the Community market.

If you're going to instantly reply 'CAUSE IT'S FOR THE SERVICES THEY SUPPLY AND ALL THE WORK THEY DO' then sit down and read.

The moment you purchase steam funds, that is no longer whatever currency you just spent. If you bought 5 dollars on steam, you don't have 5 dollars, you have steam funds. The money is in Steam's pocket.
If you go to purchase an item on the Community Market, you are paying another person Steam Funds for an item, you are not spending any real money on it, that money is still in Steam's pocket.
Steam still decides to tax you for purchasing the item, as fees/taxes.
They are taxing their own currency. They are not taking money from you, as this transaction is in Steam Funds, and they do not make any more or less money by taxing you, it is literally only to make you spend more money.

To summarize it, You give steam money, they give you monopoly money, when you try to purchase something from someone else with the monopoly money, steam takes some because they can. They did not get any more of your real money, they just decided you shouldn't have that much monopoly money.

First of all Dandy, you must be 10 years old.

When the money is printed out, The money is taxed an infinite amount of times down the line. So why is that okay, but you're not okay with them collecting money from the services they provide?

Or, you could contact Steam Support, and they can explain this to you as if you were a two year old.

They're not taxing you for fun.

And I'm not your Homie.

Why? It seems like you don't like peoples opinions, only your own... so what does it matter?
They could also make a fee for a transaction.

Its just something there to "buy" or not using it.

if they taxed the purchase of games then yeah that makes total sense and i am okay with that, but they're taxing sales on the community market, which is something that does not give or take any money from them, so its sole purpose is just to take the funds we have

Its money you upload and they dont need to share it with developers.

So its indeed real money for them.

you can't 'upload' money and they pay developers wages for game sales
but nobody needs to be paid for community market sales, yet that's what is taxed
Its an offer: Give us money for that.

You accept it or skip it.

Not sure what is so difficult about that.
