How to report a Developer Abuse?
I'm sure steam keeps track of what games have been played on accounts. My question is why do I get a random game ban from a game that I haven't played since June 18th after they revoked my beta that I had paid for? I have not been able to play the game, and I had only played it for at most 20 minutes. The money and the beta doesn't matter to me, what matters is that Game Developers have the option to abuse the system and invoke random bans on people without cause. I have contacted the developer via their email on here numerous times requesting refund and/or explanation as to why the game was revoked without response. This is completely unjustified. The game ban by definition is for THE GAME. I have not even been able to play it.

Hey this is Adam, one of the community managers for Tracer Interactive, and I want to clarify a few things since there’s a lot of misinformation going around. My first contact with BREAD, originally BR34DST1CK, was when he privately messaged me asking that I “toss the game files in a zip and send them to me.” He didn’t seem to realize I was connected to the project, in any way, and was trying to acquire the game outside of the proper channels. This clearly sent up a red flag, however, he was not banned but simply told that he would not be able to participate in Alpha testing. He was fine with this decision and everything was copacetic.

He recently applied for testing again, under multiple alternate accounts, and was eventually let in against our better judgement, but notified that we were watching him closely. Shortly after we noticed that he was using a new primary account and not the account he had originally messaged me from. That’s when we discovered that his original account had a recent VAC ban on it:

Since we don’t like adding known cheaters to testing, his game ownership was quickly revoked. However, because this VAC ban was on a different account, from a different game, no game ban was put in place on his new account. At this point he had the game installed and attempted a login phishing attack on our servers, which we can undoubtedly prove was him. We have records of these attempts and therefore took appropriate action against his account as any developer would.

The game is Task Force by the Developer Tracer Interactive, if any Steam Support person can look into my account, it clearly shows I had played it last around June 18th for no more than half an hour.

Game bans are for not only cheating, but for behavior issues that may have occurred. OR, just... because the dev feels like it.

You signed an agreement when you 'paid for beta', that acknowledges that they may revoke access to this game at any time for any reason.

Since you don't tell us the 'full story' - we must assume that some kind of issue came up and they just *do not want you playing their game*.

Also be aware that BETAS ARE NOT FULL RELEASES.

Yes, I understand that it is not for full games. And the full story I completely get. That's why I brought up the hard evidence of my TIME on the game. If it had been for behavior or what have you it would have been way before. There is no record of me being on the game. Matter of fact the entirety of my playtime on it was on stream which would also match the records in my Steam account. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/440975385?filter=archives&sort=time

The revoking of the beta is the least of my concern. The game ban now displayed on my account is my problem. I have done absolutely nothing to deserve this.

You should send a report to the Steam support.

I had tried, it navigated me to their email which I had emailed many times without response

I emailed them directly many times, and they delete everything in their forums.

There are rules for VAC bans on the developer side, too. The dev also has signed an agreement and definetly can't ban you if he feels like. Betas don't end with a VAC ban, the game usually get's removed or replaced...a ban would be ridiculous.

My point is that they did, that is why I'd like to report them for it. There is hard evidence of my activity on the game. And the only recourse Steam is showing is to keep sending emails to the Developer which are ultimately being ignored.

As far I can see, the ban occured today. If you sent a ticket to the Steam support, be patient for a few days and wait for a reply.

Vac bans for KNOWN CHEATS.

GAME bans ban for cheatING, but also for griefing, behavior issues, complaints, or basically anything the developer deems worth banning over.

The forum is --> thataway, so... go for it. I would imagine that they're not going to lift a ban now, given how vehemently you think they're doing it maliciously. I notice you have never, EVER, posted in that forum. You probably should have, before your account was banned? Maybe there was something you were doing that was offensive. Maybe your account got reported for something.

Understandable, as I have said numerous times there would be no other reason due to the fact I had played for 20 or so minutes which was all recorded here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/440975385?filter=archives&sort=time

Steam can confirm the time I had played along with the video and see for themselves there was no issue. Also the Developer "Redline" from Tracer Interactive is notorious in the community for acting childish.

You're using too many words. Do not engage with bad devs, it can not help you, only hurt.

If you're under 2 hours, and two weeks, send that refund request.

If you're over it, you may be SOL.

Understood, I donated via Paypal as advised on their site and in the documentation provided by the Developer. I had to pay $25 for a "Beta copy" which was revoked immediately after without reason.
Zekiran Jul 19, 2019 @ 10:30pm
So.... you ... sent them money OFF of Steam.

You got scammed. Do a chargeback through paypal.

You didn't say in your OP that this was done NOT through Steam, but instead through off site means. That kind of does change everything.
